Paradise Camp 2017 (July 21-22)

Weather in Miami is ******. Mad ******. No ******* way CG didn't get hit by the monsoon that just hit me in Doral.

It's pouring out here...How long is camp for?

Hopefully it rains out Friday Night Dykes

They have a IPF...

Has anyone driven by the IPF very SLOWLY to see what progress has been made ?

From what I hear, nothing has been done.
So there's little chance it'll be completed by tomorrow and continuing to cry about it only stinks of womanly discharge?

My wife works in coral gables near UM campus and she says that it hasn't rained , just overcast

Never mind the trolling facquits on here. They just want to **** talk UM every chance they get. They've had to resort to weather and IPF garbage because they have nothing left.

Just looked at radar and no way its not raining down there. Football is played in the rain, lets hope it just rains today and we get those beautiful skies the rest of the weekend (except for that normal afternoon shower).
the camp has been over for almost 2 hours

I just saw Pastor Richt at Wal Mart buying a huge tarp with stakes. He said "Paradise camp is still on, nothing has changed"

The rain coming down after the event retroactively canceled the activities that already took place.

My radar app goes back a few hours so I could see what it looked like during camp hours.

With Ed Reed and the other DB coaches, I'm shocked that DB targets and commits opted to go elsewhere or bother not to show. I know these kids want to enjoy the process, but if you miss something like this (for other than legit reasons), why would anyone think you'd show up for a bowl game etc? That's the perception I get...

READ THE BOARD!!!

Hurricane Warrior may not have the "official" list, but it's got to be **** close. He has probably spent a little part of everyday over the last month updating that thread. Show some respect. He may have a little too much sunshine for my taste, but he is a valuable asset to this site. This site has a collection of awesome posters that spend time out of their busy lives providing you with valuable information. So, when you start a post (I hope the other 8 were just as insightful,) take a minute to think about all the info users provide here once they have that information to give free of charge.

Relax bro....he just asked a question. Why do people on here get so uptight.

Do you think someone has an official Paradise '17 list and is just waiting for a poster to ask for it on this board to share with everybody? As soon as this info is available and can be shared it will be. It's that simple. Asking for it could easily have been done in the thread I hyperlinked to if he wasn't sure if it was already posted.

Perhaps, you guys should relax a little bit when someone gives you constructive criticism.

In fact, Geo posted like 5 hours ago that he was putting up a list of visitors this afternoon. I'll give OP 3 guesses what thread he posted that update in...

So one poster with a wife who works there says it hasn't rained, while another with a radar app says it did. Hrm.. who to believe? The person actually there or an app...

Top Performers Friday at Paradise Camp
A look at the underclassmen who stood out.
Andrew Ivins

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami held its annual Paradise Camp for rising 9th and 10th graders on Friday. InsideTheU and 247Sports was on hand to cover the event as there were a number of talented underclassmen working out in front of Mark Richt and the rest of the Hurricanes coaches.

7315808.jpg

Samuel Anaele
Miami, FL (Norland)
Strong-Side Defensive End
Ht 6-4 Wt 227
CLASS OF 20

1. DE Samuel Anaele (2020): There was no 'Alpha Dog' at the camp given the limited number of participants, but Anaele made a strong case to be one. The Miami Norland defensive end looked like a man amongst boys displaying a first quick step and a powerful punch at the point of attack. The native of Nigeria might be raw, but the upside is definitely there.

Kendrick Patterson
Pelham, GA (Pelham)
Dual-Threat Quarterback
Ht 6-4 Wt 197
CLASS OF 20

2. QB Kendrick Patterson (2020): The state of Georgia seems to be churning out talented quarterback after talented quarterback and Patterson could very well be the next name to know out of the Peach State. The 6-4, 197-pound gunslinger was one of the physically impressive prospects at the camp and drew plenty of praise from quarterbacks coach Jon Richt during drills.

7315702.jpg

Christopher Johnson
Jacksonville, FL (Jean Ribault)
Tight End, Weak-Side Defensive End
Ht 6-1 Wt 170
CLASS OF 21

3. TE Christopher Johnson (2021) – Johnson worked out at both defensive end and tight end. He held his own while hitting the sled and working the bags, but looked more comfortable running routes as he was able to create plenty of separation from much slower defensive backs during 1-on-1s. The performance landed the Jacksonville Jean Ribault standout an offer from the Hurricanes minutes after the camp.

5603175.jpg

Dedrick Smith
Jacksonville, FL (Trinity Christian Academy)
Athlete, Weak-Side Defensive End
Ht 6-2 Wt 170
CLASS OF 21

4. DE Dedrick Smith (2021) – Smith wasn't exactly the biggest defensive lineman out there, but he has the frame to grow into a monster one day. The younger brother of current Miami safety Derrick Smith moved well in space and was able to use a low base to find power when asked to move a sled. He was offered by the Hurricanes back in January.

4_5289860.jpg

Derek Wingo
Fort Lauderdale, FL (St. Thomas Aquinas)
Tight End, Athlete, Outside Linebacker
Ht 6-1 Wt 195
CLASS OF 20

5. LB Derek Wingo (2020) – Wingo plays a number of different positions at St. Thomas Aquinas, but elected to workout at linebacker for defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. It was a smart move as the lengthy athlete looked like a natural dropping back into coverage. He still has a ways to go, but will likely be a name to know at some point down the line.

Others: Glades Central 2020 wide receiver James Davis has plenty of speed. He's the cousin of former UM standout and current NFL wide receiver Travis Benjamin ... Fort Lauderdale American Heritage 2020 defensive end Andy Garcia impressed at defensive end. He could be a Power 5 prospect if he continues to develop ... 2020 quarterback Edwin Rhodes was invited back to throw on Saturday after dropping some dimes.

James Davis
Belle Glade, FL (Glades Central)
Wide Receiver
Ht 5-11 Wt 160
CLASS OF 20

4_7316044.jpg

Andy Garcia
Fort Lauderdale, FL (American Heritage)
Strong-Side Defensive End
Ht 6-1 Wt 190
CLASS OF 20

4_7316046.jpg

Edwin Rhodes
Fort Lauderdale, FL (American Heritage)
Pro-Style Quarterback
Ht 6-0 Wt 160
CLASS OF 20

I usually don't ready into all the visits and off season stuff but I'm actually surprised at who isn't coming. We have hall of fame alumni going to be there and we have locals kids declining to come to the camp. Kinda strange.
