Pack the Rock

The UM ticket office has done this for decades. They jack up the FSU individual game ticket prices assuming it will be the only game that the masses want to attend so they can maximize their profits. Unfortunately for them, FSU is horrible this year and the large contingent of Seminole fans that usually buy tickets for this game are skipping it altogether.

I might still go if I can find something last minute on the secondary market but I just booked a hotel for my vacation next month and dropping $250 for a pair of football tickets kind of puts my budget in the toilet.
Over extended.....Be a Man.

So we’re screwed for the ACC championship game, and playoff games? Is this fan base that broke?

Those tickets are guaranteed to be more expensive
No I think what people are saying is if FSU was undefeated or **** was even ranked, this is already a sell-out and the secondary markets would have the tix as MORE expensive and people would pay it. Miami is a city of being where the action is no matter the cost. Hence why when the heat were so good the prices were insaneeeee. Here, this is not seen as a marque game any longer. Even Pate said he had this game circled and made arrangements to come but he isnt anymore. He thinks its a blowout by 3 tds.

If we are hosting playoff games at home it will be a sellout. You also have basically very few FSU fans willing to pay these amounts and make the trip. That fan base is battered right now. They do usually travel to Miami in decent numbers, I imagine the amount of FSU fans in the stadium will be paltry but if we are playing a playoff team those fans will travel and drive up prices and miami people will pay up.

Honestly if Duke beats SMU tomorrow night they are probably ranked with a 7-1 record coming to play us and we may have more Duke fans at the stadium than noles lol

Sorry I guess I am missing the point you are trying to make? That Duke cant sell out their stadium against SMU?? Not being a jerk legit just unsure of the relevance.
If Duke can’t sell out their own stadium, they’re sure as **** not gonna outdraw FSU fans even for a horrific season their having

Got ya, but IDK man, its not saying much... traditionally I would venture roughly 15% of the stadium is FSU fans when the game is in Miami. I think sometimes that gets closer to 25% when we were bad and they were good. I am venturing less than 5% of the crowd tomorrow will be FSU fans. Let me ask you this, if this was last year and FSU was 7-0, ranked #6, we were 1-6, game was in Tally, and you had to pay $200 for nosebleeds would you make the trip? I wouldnt.

As far as Duke, Right now Duke isnt ranked. I dont think anyone believes in them including their fans because they have been scrapping by with wins. If they somehow pull an upset over SMU and become ranked, plus Manny returning to Miami? IDK lots more to sell than 1-6 FSU. Also thinking Duke could account for 7-10% I dont think is outlandish, basically less than 6k Duke fans. My comment was not a testament to how well Duke travels, its how bad I think FSU fans are traveling right now.

I go to Miami games regardless of record, I bleed orange and green

FSU is still traveling though. They traveled to Duke last Friday night and had a great crowd there.

Half the FSU alumni is from Miami, so it’s not like they’re traveling far

It’s more about Miami fans not selling out their own stadiums, quit relying on other fan bases to sell the tickets.

No way Duke brings 6k to any away game.

On average they bring 1k. Heck they don't bring 6k to Chapel Hill and it's only 10 mins away

There is literally NO CHANCE that Duke accounts for 7-10% of fans next week.

Miami also hasnt been 1-6 in our liftimes... but you havent missed a single game in the last few years? Away and home? Kudos to you then man.

And what do you mean had a great crowd? Were you there?

Duke Stadium holds 40k. They did not sell out. IDK official attendance. So if there was say roughly 30k do you think a 1/3 or 10k were FSU? No way. Maybe 5k which is what I am estimating from Duke. Look at the stands with 9 min in a 4pt game in the 4th quarter. There was also a FG early in the second quarter and the stands were no better. Where are these FSU fans?

lol calm down guys... I said MAY.... and it was more of a testament to how bad FSU is rn.

Also you dont think all of Manny's fam and firends, and Manny senior people will be there in Duke jerseys? IF Duke wins they will be ranked, 7-1, how often does that ever happen at Chapel Hill? Duke alum has money. Thinking they bring 4,000 fans (which would be 7%) just does not seem outlandish for a ranked matchup and Manny's homecoming.

I would normally say "of course" because the math is so easy for them to hit 4,000...but, away fans (outside of Clemson and FSU) just never show up. I've been going to games for 32 years, and the away allotment never sells out.

It's a major factor in why our attendance "looks" worse than it actually is.

I don’t even live in Miami, I have to fly to every game.

Early Butch Davis- Probation seasons. Randy Shannon, Al Golden was worse football than what we’ve seen the past few years. I support this program no matter the records

Seth Cooker went to the game, said half the stadium was FSU fans

That part I agree with (opposing fans randomly come) but the few times ranked teams came I recall decent showings. I am thinking of some UNC, Oklahoma that year with Bradford and Demarco and I think #8, Ohio State, etc. they all had good turnouts but they were all ranked matchups.

You're right about OSU in 2011. Good point.

Nebraska in 2015 showed up as well.

Nebraska has sold out every home game since 1962- over 400 straight

They haven’t played in a bowl game since 2016

Nebraska, Ohio State travel no matter their records

Man thats not what I said and not what you said. I ALWAYS support the program, I no longer live in Miami and also fly or drive to games. This will be my 4th game this year. I sat through those Golden and Shannon years as well.

Again, if you have not missed a single game since Butch years, kudos to you, here are some flowers. My question was specific, would you fly or drive to Tally to pay 200 bucks per seat to sit by yourself or say 400 for you and a child or wife, to watch us at 1-6 as 21 point dogs to a top 10 FSU?

Supporting the program and going out of your way to travel and pay insane prices are two drastically different things.

With Seth, I just listened to it. I believe he said about half were FSU fans, and he was shocked. Said barely any Duke fans there. You also just showed me a screen grab that tickets for SMU (a ranked game) are $15 bucks. What is the drive from Tally to Duke? 9 hours? and Tally to Miami? 7 hours? If our ticket prices were 15 bucks then yes more FSU fans show up. I think you are proving my point that these are too high. An FSU fan will pay 15 bucks to watch their team at the 50 yard line in the lower bowl, even when they suck. I would do for UM. Vast vast difference than 200 bucks for the very last row of the nosebleeds.

yes I would, did I bought tickets for FSU game last year as well

Paid over $200 per tickets last year being a 17 point? underdog

Already told you I don’t care what the record is, I’m showing up and supporting

Wish I could make the trip down should be a similar atmosphere to the 2017 VT and ND games. Dare I say it may be better since I can’t imagine a ton of Nolies attending given their current state.
