Flying down from NJ tonight. I am finally getting to sit in my own seats this season.

It’s not goalposts moving. It’s pretty much a fact. This fanbase has:

40k die hard fans who are able to make it to games on demand and don’t miss many games

Another 5-10k who are die hard fans who make it to the big ones or when the team is doing great. This population isn’t able to make it on demand but they still show up at least once a year.

The rest of the attendance that makes up big crowds at hard rock are opposing fans or games where the whole town is saying “are you going the game on Saturday?”. We have many casual fans in south Florida that will go if it turns into the event of the night. It’s very difficult to get those people out unfortunately

I think it's more like:

25K die hards
10K will show up unless we're a bad team
10K passively active for medium and big games
10K active for big games only

And then there's an infinite amount of people from the city that want to watch a big game because it's an event town. If it was #1 Miami against #2 Ohio State in mid-November we could fill a 90K stadium. The elasticity of our fan base is one of the most extreme in the country. We had 82,000 people against FSU in 2002 and I've been to games where I don't think we had 5,000 people in attendance.

I think it's more like:

It hasn't been as low as 5k since the 70s, but I went to lots of games at the old OB in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, and it's the same old story. Game like this.. Meh team, early game.. doesn't matter how good we are, you'll be lucky to get 45k. It's just how it is.

She tends to get stuck in a lot of furniture and requires help getting out.
