Miami's first step to returning to prominence is dominating the ACC Coastal, and while this shouldn't be our main goal it should be an expectation every year.

Looking back at the last four recruiting cycles (including this one) we have had far superior recruiting class compared to every other team in the coastal. Simply put, we just have not performed to the level we have recruited.

Expecting guys like Rique to come to Miami when their only memories are of Coker getting fired, Shannon getting fired, Golden getting fired, No D as a coordinator lol, and Richt blowing **** is just not rational. Furthermore, we don't need Rique or five-star talent to dominate the coastal.

If Diaz skull ***** everyone in the coastal next year and we are competitive with Clemson in the ACC Championship game then we are going to start landing these guys and once that happens it is only a matter of time before we are back.

Go Canes!

and if I can pick some numbers and the power ball - I'd be a wealthy man. What has happened to date to lead you to believe Diaz and
his current staff and roster are in a position to do so? Offense was terrible with no apparent Qb in sight, and defense loses 4 of its most
productive players, and current recruiting class is at best lacking playmakers on either side of the ball

Our toss up games where we will have a dog fight is only UF and FSU this year i think we split those two games and lose to Clemson in conference title, that would be 11-2 going into bowl season probably ranked in top 15. With season like that we will have top 5 recruiting class is 2020 then we just build from there and we rolling.

Talent wise we are still a lot better than everyone else in the coastal.

alot of teams would love to have our class. it will get better. sorry *** season hurt us but it will get better. I look for improvements after dead period. Sometimes local kids just want to get away. recduit thee entire country and we find some good ones. Butch used to do that

Yes this is transition class

This class was already substandard for UM over the last two decades by the time signing day closed (before any transition).

Rique, Bogle, and Hasselwood weren't coming whether Richt was still here or not. I see people already making excuses for this class as a "transition class" even though every commit other than the ******* punter was signed before Richt left.

Truth is, it was going to be a battle to get this class in the top 20 no matter what. A top 20 class at UM should be the minimum requirement for a staff, because a top 25 class here should be automatic if you are remotely competent.

Our classes have been good enough every year for the past decade to dominate the coastal, yet we never do. Manny better show that he can coach at a high enough level to beat less talented teams or we are going to be in the same spot we've been stuck in for years.

Speaking the truth Andrew. If only some of these other posters on here understood that. Dominating the coastal and upping the football profile of the ACC is why we were brought here. It’s time to start doing that! 16,17,18 and 19 classes makes us the most talented team by a long shot in the coastal and second or third most talented in the ACC. These are facts and with our facility upgrades there’s no excuses anymore. The coastal should be our birthright and the baseline of our success every year and now that we have a coach that isn’t a dinosaur more concerned with nepotism and keeping his “yes sir” buddies employed maybe will start seeing the teams play match it’s recruiting for the first time excluding last year since 2005.

Don’t even need a full on skull ****, some simple chin nuts would do. We were 10-0 and needed gods help to beat GT and no one cared. Still made it to 2 in the playoff rankings. JUST WIN!!!!!!

I'm not sure it is, both with the QB situation on campus, and lack of qb in this class. The quality of players at other sports, although we are disappointed it isn't great national, is good enough for coastal sure... BUT, the depth isn't there overall and some positions flat out needed major additions.

Good coaches in the coastal as well. This "skull ****" isn't a given by any means.

Still plenty of holes in this class.

No QB, No Blue Chip OL, a DE or 2 short, only 1 CB and Safety, only 1 WR.

I have a feeling this class will probably be right around the 30-24 rank when this cycle closes out. Getting Emerson is a must as well as a transfer at the positions mentioned above. If we can get TJ Jones, then this cycle on WR was solid considering we lost AR, Jeff Thomas, Cager and Langham. So we need at least 2 guys at WR.
