OT - Redskins hiring first African American female assistant

I really like football, too. Doesn't mean I'm qualified to coach at the professional level.

Have you dedicated your career to coaching? Maybe start with being an intern, then a grad assistant or analyst, and learn about coaching like all the women did. You may like football but it seems you haven't done anything to show that you are trying to become a coach.

For several decades there was a belief across sports (especially football and baseball) that while black men could play the game, they lacked the mental capacity to understand the complexity of being a coach. The proof was that there weren't any black coaches, so the theory had to be true. The ignorance on display in this thread is just another variation of that, with dummies pre-determining that women arent capable of coaching men's sports.

This doesn’t make up for your mascot you RACIST. Make America Hate Again. Apologize to the Dungeness!

I was hoping some like Chris Angel would have been hired. May not know much about football, but he could make our losses disappear.

Triggered.

I guess you'd be happy if UM hired its first ever female to coach WR's -- for the sole reason that she's a female. Would you rest assured knowing she was the best person for the job? Would you trust that she fully comprehended the intricacies, brutality, and physicality of the game without ever stepping foot on a field or taking a shot to the chin? Would hiring this said female put UM at an advantage or disadvantage from a developmental and recruiting standpoint? Most importantly, are you, TimeB0mb snowflake, even able/willing to think about these issues logically?

Bruh there are college and NFL coaches who fit this description 😂

Lol cupcake. Pointing out your stupidity isn't being triggered, its just simply pointing out your stupidity. "Triggered" is the person who comes onto this thread whining about how women are taking jerbs from men because they "cant understand the physicality."

I have no doubt you've taken "shots on the chin", and also likely down your throat, and in your eye- but I don't think that makes you qualified to coach.

But to answer your question- I wouldn't really care if Miami hired a female WR coach. I judge on performance, not appearances. And if she failed, I wouldn't attribute it to her gender. As a matter of fact, if Diaz hired a woman WR coach I would assume she was extremely good because if she failed it would probably cost him his job.

Miami's last 2 WR coaches are black and were generally considered failures. Miami just hired a white WR coach. I don't assume that black WR coaches can't succeed at Miami.

That’s funny, because most of ‘these’ hires are made based on appearance, not performance.

King, who played softball and basketball at Guilford College in North Carolina, also played in the Women’s Football Alliance, winning a national championship with the New York Sharks. As a basketball coach, she led Johnson & Wales to a U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association national championship in 2018.

No reason not to give her a shot if she is qualified. Is she a 24/7 type? If the players can relate to her and she can get the job done why not? Plenty of ****** coaches that have got fired over the years that never should have been coaches.

Really? Were you part of the interview panels on all the hires? I imagine you had to have been to say something like that, otherwise people would think you are a judgmental ******.

Let's look at the recent hire making the news, Jennifer King.
- won college National Championship as basketball coach
-Assistant WR coach for the Alliance of American Football (equivalent to XFL)
- Team led AAF West division @ 5-3 when league folded
- Offensive Assistant at Dartmouth
- Dartmouth went 9-1 and finished second in their conference
- Played semi-pro football winning 3 championships
- 2 years as intern for Ron Rivera

Let's compare that with a Male assistant coach. I picked someone that reminded me of you- new Dolphins DB coach, Curt *****.
Here is his resume at the time of his hiring:
7 years as high school coach

Yeah, King sure is unqualified compared to her Male counterparts.

Best person for the job. I've never retreated from that position. As long as they are truly the best person for the job, and no affirmative action bull was involved. Good luck to the gal.

...'African American'

Y'know, I remember in the 90's that 'colored people' was bad to say. Some people even bristled at 'African American'; citing that there was no way I could know their ancestry was from Africa, and I really didn't consider them true Americans by calling them 'African American' (Yeah, there were snowflakes back in the 90's). Then again, I spent some time out in California during the 90's, and people are nuts out there to begin with.

But nowadays, apparently 'people of color' is now considered appropriate...somehow. Which is *******. RIDICULOUS. Make up your damned mind.

I dunno, maybe I get a little sick and tired of hearing about companies and corporations hiring someone that isn't white and male, and patting themselves on the back as they do so. "Ooh, look at us, we hired <insert race/gender/sexuality person here>!" Big deal. All you're doing is treating the person you hired differently than anyone else; which is positively sexist and/or racist. And being sexist and/or racist, even if its well-intentioned, is not a good thing.

Signed,

The Casper-Peach Colored German-Irish-Heinz 57 American

And if you don't call me all of that, I'll be severely offended and you are being prejudiced and I'll go in the corner and cry in my snowflake safe space.
