One good season doesn't make you a great basketball program. Our program is above average.

We've been to the sweet 16 at least twice in the last 4 years.

So has Iowa State.
Iowa State is a top 25 and tournament team every year. Have you watched college bball before Coach L got here?

A top 25 team every year? Might want to do some research. Been watching UM basketball since Foster. Once again we are still an above average team at best.

First, I'd say Sweet 16 is better than "above average." Second, "above average" in basketball at a program that didn't exist as late as 1985 is pretty remarkable especially when you're in the toughest conference in college basketball. Everything is relative.

Duke has more 5 stars sitting on the bench. UM will never be more than an above average basketball team.

No doubt. They will never win a conference championship either...LOL

Long term? Law of averages will always have us behind the big boys in the ACC, no doubt....but Coach L is making a nice run at making UM relevant in the discussion and hopefully he will get to hand pick his successor.

ok, but there are issues with your statement. You're spitting facts, but how many kids on our roster were TRULY Richt's recruits? Not an apologist, by any means, but dude ain't even had a complete recruiting cycle yet. Things don't completely change over night. Most of that blame lies at the feet of that other abject failure we had roaming our sidelines.

No more excuses. Rick is the HC. This is his class and it has nothing to do with Folden or anyone else. He needs to close like a monster because, so far, it's looking shaky.

True **** man people hate real ****

This 17 class is going to fall apart and they will blame wins and losses and schemes when Tennessee scheme is *** and they close

Tell me something... what makes this real right now? Because a couple of his recruits decommitted in the middle of the season? What makes this fact? Just cause yall so ****in stuck on this victim **** that everything has to fall apart for yall to feel vindicated? Come on that's just some ****ery. Hating on **** just for the sake of it. Lastly it's obvious as can be **** near no one was recruited in they days. Recruiting is all about relationships & building up trust & a report with the community, with kids & they families. Good kids are recruited now from middle school & up. From freshman or sophomore year till it's time to go. Yall wanna see the proof this staff playing chess while yall play go fish. Just watch all the youth league football teams & camps richt is interacting with on a regular. Laugh if you choose but he's recruiting when he does that. He's building rapport with coaches, kids & families. That's how you get monsters. No other way except payola. That's fact.take it as u wish.

If recruiting is all about relationships then how'd we close with so many of Folden's recruits after he got fired, and how'd we not get a bunch of the dudes Rick and Brown were recruiting to UGA in 2016?

Why can't Rum get any Heritage kids if it's all about relationships? Who had a closer relationship to all those dudes than their own HC?

Jeezus man. I forget the world we live in now where common **** sense is shot by the bow. This is a world that just elected a clan member so I shouldn't be shocked. A relationship opens the door chise... a relationship has to apply towards more than simply a face. It also applies to a scheme,a staff,a school,a team etc... come on. Don't be so desperate to see failure that the straws yall grasping to simply get shorter & shorter. Last year's kids were already familiar with certain members of the staff, furthermore said relationship sells you on why said university is the place for you... at the point of a commitment you do so because you're sold on all of the above. On top of that in most instances when a staff is replaced the kids are aware of the deficiencies of the previous staff. It's a process & it really is that simple. But the relationship is the pivotal beginning to all of it. Ask Tyler Byrd who chose that relationship that got him to commit to um & followed it to UT.

How about their o.c. or their position coach or any other coach. Regardless you all keep assuming these kids are allowed to blindly follow him here. **** sad how bad yall look at a **** good member of the staff. Luckily a fan base only matters to the fans.

Or ask latrell Williams who chose that relationship that got him to commit to um and followed who to UT.

Latrell Williams was recruited by dugans who sold him on his relationship and got him to South Florida & for a month that relationship got him here. As I stated a relationship is only a beginning. It's a way to open the door & sell a university that you have a relationship with as well. Real tough to take a kid you've been telling usf is the ****. It's the place for you. Than you leave there & tell him I was wrong.it's not the place for you. This university that has never thought of your bum *** is the place for you. Than hold on to that. By the way he followed Larry Scott to UT who formed a relationship with him while he was being recruited to um. A kid like that was nothing but a plan c kid to anyone but a mid major. Doesn't take much to be the big boy on the block when everyone else plays for the p.a.l. or ymca. As usual we struggle to grasp said message.
