Ron Harper we talkin bout old Ron Harper.
You guys are acting like the GSW team plays a half court game...THEY are running...Those 7 FOOTERS you guys speaking of waiting in the lane arent going to be there...or are going to foul out rather early. Luc Longley, Bill Wennington, Will Perdue or name any of the other stiffs they routinely trotted out there.
Im in the age range that i was a kid pre teen when bulls were 3 peeting and and adult with the gsw moves. GSW in 6 in any era.
Those Bulls teams would give Brons cavs issues though and my Heat teams.
Curry will still get his easy buckets as any athletic pg routinely gave them trouble THEN. They NEVER really faced a player with the range of Curry...when they did ...a guy like Mahmoud Abdul Rauf got his NUMBERS 20s and above...and thats with them sticking jordan on him at times.
The Rules matter...but against GSW they wont matter TOO much. The game play back then was to force jumpshots...well that GSW team is built to shoot jumpshots ..in fact they want them. Its why i laugh at the KD would be in trouble or below his numbers talk...he will mid range them to death and he is getting to his spots with ease as he is 6'11 and taller than their centers. The one who numbers may drop is Klay. But does it really matter when Iggy is coming off the bench on the 2nd unit and killing?. 6'7 back up point guard is killing jed beuchler.
Running doesn’t just happen. It’s the result of long rebounds and turnovers, things the Bulls didn’t give up.
Pippin would be the toughest matchup of Durant’s career. His percentages would be below his average most games.
Iggy and Kukoc are a wash off the bench. Livingston is decent, but he ain’t Lou Williams coming off the bench.
With an open lane and modern physicality, the Warriors would run the Bulls out of the building because they signed big stiffs to have the size needed to deal with the great centers of the 90s.
That’s why they win under 90s rules and lose under modern rules. If that team was built for the modern game, they would have smaller more athletic bigs and longer more athletic wings. If the Warriors had to go through guys like Olajuwon, Robinson, Barkley, Ewing, Shaq, etc to get the title, they would have big stiffs down low too.
That’s why you can’t ignore the rules changes because it completely changes who can enforce their strengths better.
We watched the Warriors so AMAZING things on the court and they are a GREAT team. However the ridiculousness of some of the things they have are the result of a deliberate effort the league made to increase scoring because coaches were turning games into low scoring iso-ball wrestling matches.
They would be a great team in any era, but they would look more human forced to play outside of the environment their team was specifically built to function in, same as the Bulls.
Show me the rules, I will show you the winner.
