OT: Corruption in NCAA BBAll

This **** will spill over to football it feels like, if there going to get every1 they better get bama too then

This is much more rampant in college basketball players though. Some of these kids the elite ones sign as freshman and barely go to class their second semester in school because they know they will be drafted months later. 150k is on the smaller scale to what some of these kids get.

**** yea. Tmac got his hs coach a million from adidas. Only difference then was you could go straight to the NBA.....

It's pretty safe to say Miami football has been relatively clean since Shapiro. As long as this ish doesn't hurt Football, I'm good.

I still believe since no money ever switched hands Coach L will be fine.

Coach L is the very definition of character. If he had been running our football program during the Golden era, we'd be talking Playoffs and people across the country would be marveling at Miami's clean powerhouse football program.

Take this to the bank: you can bet that right now, as we speak, the AD's at Bama and OSU are reminding Saban's staff and Urban Liar (let's set aside Coach Cuck at Free Shoes for a moment) that they need to review Compliance procedures with their Assistants and their Recruiting Departments. Do not think that the DOJ hasn't been looking at Collegiate Football. I'm almost positive they have.

The SEC is a sewer, but the Boosters hide the graft and the gifts to families, coaches and street agents. I think OSU and Free Shoes might have some problems along this line as well.

College coach told him it may be up to 100 coaches involved

ESPN wants to know how to get the corruption out of bigly college sports? It's easy. Cancel the tv contracts. Money is gone, corruption is gone. Like magic.

This is not some Yahoo reporter with salacious allegations or even the NCAA swinging their massive rule book at Miami, this is the FBI who has full authority to subpoena and investigate as far as their leads take them. Miami coaches were involved in the bribery scheme and were named in the indictment, maybe not by name (coach #3 ), but they were implicated as being directly involved. It does not matter that he was not arrested (yet) nor that he wasn't on a wiretap or that it involved a 2019 recruit, they had enough evidence to include him in the indictment as having alleged to commit a crime which gives them full subpoena power of that coach and the University, and now we have confirmation that the FBI has indeed notified the University that they are under investigation. And this isn't the NCAA who you can lie to and withhold information, this is a Federal investigation, Under Oath, which means full cooperation or go to jail kind of power. This has the potential (and a high likelihood) to get much, much worse not only for Coach #3 but Miami basketball as a whole. You think those 5-stars from last year won't be interviewed? Think this is the first time Adidas has helped these schools land big time prospects? Criminal charges aside, the NCAA has a long precedent of not looking too kindly on pay for play schemes and they will have the ability to leverage the FBIs investigation which can go much further than the NCAA would normally be able to. Very dark days are ahead for Miami basketball.

One of our main targets for 2018, Jalen Carey, just said he's no longer considering us because of this.

But I kind of do think this was the first time under coach L. In the wiretap they recorded the guys saying "it would be another Louisville situation." I would think they'd say something more like "it would be like Lonnie Walker last year" if that's how we got him.

But yeah, this is our last good year of basketball at Miami for the foreseeable future.

6 posts in and this is your worst.

No one at Miami has been charged and is unlikely to be.

You're trying to gin this up against Miami because you get off on it.

Read the reasonable posts from actual lawyers to get a realistic perspective.

Nice try to get everyone depressed, but it won't work.

Also, if you're saying dark days for Miami, how about the other schools and how about the many others that will likely be implicated in the near future.

No. Your goal is to get Miami fans in a panic. Fūck you, aśšhole.

It seems that reference above is third I've seen stating over 100 coaches or programs involved. This is no longer a nuclear bomb, this is like several ballistic misslies with various types of nuclear warheads attached. Hold on to your butts.

Huh? In what way? Our top 2 recruiting prospects, Nassir Little, and Jalen Carey are not going to come here now.

Yea, you're right.

We're fūcked.

Feel better now?

Don't be a cūnt.

We're in Day 2 of a story that absolutely no one knows how it will end. It could involve dozens upon dozens of schools. Miami may end up being a minor blip in the overall story. Point is, nobody knows the actual implications.

But you are sure it means basically Miami basketball is screwed. You can see into the future.

The only thing I'm sure of is this: cūnts like you will paint the worst possible picture without knowing shīt. Nobody knows how this ends up, except Sallies like you.

Why would he worry about that when he can litter the board with his fear mongering? It's so much more fun.

God you are ******* unbearable. I follow basketball recruiting more than football. Losing a big basketball recruit is a bigger deal than losing a football recruit. We will not sufficiently replace Lonnie Walker, Bruce Brown, and Ja'Quan Newton this recruiting cycle. That will affect our team for years alone. I don't think you realize how good we are going to be this year, and how long it takes to have a good team when we don't get top flight recruits. We are either good when we have an experienced, senior-laden team, or when we get top recruits. We won't get top recruits in at least this recruiting cycle, which means starting to build a team that will be good in 3 years.

Duh, this isn't done yet, but it will take forever for all of this to come out. Unfortunately for now we are only one of a few teams that has an active FBI investigation against our team. You're ignorant to think this won't have an immediate impact.

I can't see into the future, but I saw what happened today where one of our top 2 targets cut us from his list of 2 schools, effectively choosing Syracuse over us. Our other top 2 target was the guy we were going to pay. He will be a lottery pick next year assuming he's not in jail. Considering we have 2 likely lottery picks this year, and none next year, we will be worse until we can get those lottery picks. It's a pretty simple matter, but you just can't help calling anyone and everyone a "cūnt" and making broad generalizations about what type of person I am.

It's pretty pathetic, and wouldn't be surprised if you're projecting your own faults onto others. That or everyone on this board is a "cūnt", which seems more unlikely.

This is a dire situation for our team. Could many other teams get it bad? Sure, but it is not unreasonable to worry about our future on a messaging board intended to talk about our team. Calling everyone you disagree with a "cūnt" is well, the type of thing a "cūnt" would do.

Hey cūnt, supposedly the guy choosing Syracuse was choosing them anyway, you should know that since you know so much.

Nice how you're assuming we're already guilty. Guilty of what, exactly? There are no charges..

It's way too early to know the impact even 3, 6, 12 months from now.

But bleeding vaginas like you automatically assume the worst, and then try to fear monger on these boards. Sounds like you're really invested in making sure everybody thinks that this is going to be the worst possible outcome. Why?

He was not choosing Syrcase anyway. Do you understand how recruiting works at all? You probably heard of the dude yesterday for the first time and you think you know more than me now? He had a list of 3 schools, us, Syracuse, and UConn. It was between us and Syracuse.

I am not assuming we are guilty, but players don't want to play for a team with an FBI investigation over its head. We are replacing our best 3 players this year with subpar talent that will be on our team for 3 to 4 years. This is extremely simple to understand.

There's just no way to know. But OK let's just throw our hands up in the air and say this has a horrible outcome on recruiting. Are you happy now?

What the **** is exactly your point other then to get everybody to think that we're screwed?

There's just no way to know. But OK let's just throw our hands up in the air and say this has a horrible outcome on recruiting. Are you happy now?

What the **** is exactly your point other then to get everybody to think that we're screwed?

You've stopped calling me a "cūnt" so I'm gonna guess you're starting to realize I'm right. 3 months is too late. This will not be done in 1 month lmao. Most recruits sign in November.

No. I was attempting to have a discussion about how the whole FBI investigation will affect our future with my Cane brethren. Do you really need me to educate you on how message boards work? I was giving my opinion, as one would do on a message board. After Carey cut us, it came to my realization that it would affect this recruiting class. I'm not responding to this asinine conversation anymore.

Had you not had a public meltdown about me saying we're not going to be good for a few years, this would look a lot more like the normal message board discussion you're looking for.

This won't be over for a very long time. As of now, it's a crushing blow even if we skate. Best thing that can happen is that it expands quickly to many other schools. That is unlikely to happen before signing day.

But you're not trying to have a discussion.

You made sure to post a declarative statement that this is "our last good year of basketball." Your words.

That's not discussion worthy. That's you stating your opinion as an irrefutable fact.

You posted that as an absolute statement of fact, which it cannot possibly be, because no one knows the outcome.

All of which makes you a fear mongering cūnt with an agenda to make people think that the only possible outcome is the end of Miami basketball.
