one last attempt at defending coach d

i love the name calling. you guys are in denial. you think because u play ncaa football on xbox you figured it all out.

nycane shut the **** up. take ur *** back to times square. r u saying Duke and BC have more talent than us on D? come on man. every time they use the word execution i want to throw up. who's fault is it that players r still messing up? if they can't get the scheme then tailor it so they understand it better and put em positions where they can be successful. don't just run the same **** over and over and watch em make the same mistakes. on top of that, the tackling has gotten worse and worse every week.
 
i am not saying that. but this year will be the first recruiting class with real dl talent coming in. if he cant develop them, then i am 100% with u guys. we had to scoop a friggin backup from virginia to play dl. come on.

That's pretty much what he is saying. He is also saying that Wake Forest has superior talent on offense to our defensive talent. The same WF team who has scored 3 points since putting up record numbers against Dorito...yup, our talent is worse than that apparently.

hoops, this defense has collapsed the more and more minutes they log on the field. we dont have the depth. Stephen Morris has done more to take down this defense than coach d. look at the amount of time they are on the field, it is unreal. fsu is 3 deep at every position and couldnt maintain doing that. 3 and out, 3 and out, int, quick score, 3 and out, int, quick score. they never get to rest or adjust.

You're ignoring the fact that they were bad all game yesterday. They were not physically exhausted in the first quarter. You're entire argument is flawed in that regard and because Duke and BC, bottom dwellers in the ACC, did what we couldn't. It's not talent. It's scheme and execution. Our front 3/4/7, however you want to look at it, is better than the vast majority of the ACC. Porter, Pierre, Chick all have potential to play on Sundays. Perryman will, Gaines will get a chance even if it's as an undrafted guy and McCord and AQM are national level recruits.

You're argument is not a good one.

i do agree w u about the offense and i have my share of issues w coley and the play calling, but last night was more of a defensive problem imo. morris didnt turn it over and we scored points. we do go 3 n out way more than we should but i think part of it is bc we become predictable on offense and we don't have a go to play for easy yards. like a quick screen or a pass in the flats to the rb where we can get 3-4 yards easily.
 
my gut tells me after the 2 fumbles and that akward punt turnover the defense just said what do we have to do to get a breather.

after the first 2 fumbles the defense shouldve still prevented VT from scoring 2 TDs.... the defense started out w/ enough field position w/ the weather to be able to force a punt or FG at worst.

the fact that you continue to make excuses for Dorito means that you get off on the wet dreams u have about him and ur just mentally retarded.

May be wrong but Coach D was best man or a grooms man at Golden wedding. If we want to keep golden he's not going anywhere
 
He should have been gone at the end of last year. He should have been gone at the end of the game yesterday, and he should be gone at the end of this year. Unfortunately, he will still be our DC for the foreseeable future.
 
Read the herald article with coach D's quotes. He threw the players under the bus. He put them blame squarely on them, and then made a snarky comment along the lines of, even when we were winning the players were making these mistakes. I warned you the defense wasn't that good because of the players missing tackles and blowing assignments and not doing what I told them to do.

Not that I had much respect for him as a coach, but I lost all respect for him as a person
 
I believe that D'Onofrio is an in-your-face coach who preaches toughness and demands a lot, but that is more likely to make him fail here than succeed unless he turns things around VERY quickly. We've seen this before with Whipple. These are highly recruited players who believe that they are really good. When they stink playing your system and yet you are blasting them every day in practice, how long before they turn on you? You can be that type of coach if you get results. When you don't, you alienate people and get fired.
