One change that can be made to the D...

Or have the d ends work contain and on passing situations rush the edge instead of stunting and letting qb run for 13+ on the edge
It’s this simple, nothing else matters if you don’t care to protect the edges of your defense. Gtech ran the same **** all game in just different ways and we rarely had answers bro thats pathetic coaching

Thank god they weren’t as talented up front and at rb or it could have been a manny vs unc situation

Disagree. Contain is more about assignment and technique than speed. The edge guy is already there, they simply have to go upfield like 2-3 yards. Barrow could play edge be and fast enough to contain.

Bain was fine with contain on his edge. Baron was the one struggling, and he's faster.
Yes. They are not playing a technique where they can make the play, but it's more than that. Neither DE is getting to the QB. Bain is a DT. He better get use to that idea because that's where he'll play in thr NFL. He's too heavy at DE. We have twitchy DEs that can run down plays and get to the QB. Unfortunately, they are spectators on the bench like the fans in the bleachers.

Bain should not be playing DT, he does not look twitchy at 275lbs. He looks slow and fat.

Do you actually watch games or do u just look at measurements and think bc they are similar they are the same type of player and move the same? Kancy came in to college around 270 already, Kancy is quicker, lighter on his feet, faster, and significantly better change of direction than Bain at that weight. They are not the same type of player at all. The Staff needs to invest in some real DTs and stop tryna fatten up every 250lbs DE.
Never said they were the same player. Yes kancy is faster but he doesn’t have the strength and power bain does. And Bain would be considered very athletic inside and would give guards problems

no he won’t, healready looks less athletic than ever at 275lb now u want to make him a full time DT and put more weight on him and slow him down even more. Next thing u know he’s gonna be 285 moving like a 300lb+ running stopping DT. Do u expect him to play full time DT at 275lb?

He is playing inside sometimes, and I’m watching him struggle changing directions and finishing the play when he gets a hand on a ball carrier. He let Mendoza put a move on him 😂😂. He is a talented player and can play inside sometimes, but if u expect him to put in more weight and still keep his quickness idk wat to say.

Containing an edge, dropping man coverage, and learning how to cover a bunch would solve a ton of issues. Then maybe we would just be a below average defense instead of a terrible one

Go four man front and get Bain inside--especially on passing downs. Let one of the younger, quicker guys play end with Baron. We are so slow up front. The lack of speed and penetration is killing us. We have no true nose tackle and Bain has gotten big and slow so he needs to move inside.

The 3 man fronts also are not working at all and does Guidry know that you don't have to stunt every play?

You have more than you know.

To really go way back - Bear Bryant had the smallest defenses in football - but they were quick.

How many times have we seen smaller defenses just bend over huge Offensive lines?

Speed kills.

Always will.

Was talking to my buddy who’s a college coach and he said the 4 man fronts have looked more solid for Miami but he didn’t go into much detail bc he hasn’t watched much. But the stunting from the DL is just insane at this point it’s way too much
