On to the 2013 class

I think it will be a small class. We already have Kermit, Kearse, Collins and Bryant as early commits...Senat is in if he wants...so is Olsen and Cunningham. Coley is a huge long shot. You figure if just those 7 come we are half way to our class right there. I'm thinking we are really selective with the rest. Those 7, even though they may not be positions of need (esp wr) are just too good of athletes to let go. Theres also Thomas, Deeb and Williams that are probably too good of athletes to let go of.

This Would be the #1 class in the country.
Yes please.

We'll sign 25 or nearly that much next year. I think we'll be 2 under the 85 this year anyhow. And some kids will move on.

there will be alot of underclassmen on our current roster that will look for future endeavors. I think we will sign around 20 barring heavy scholly reductions.

QB-Olsen, RB-Collins, WR-Cunningham/Whitfield, TE-DeSean Smith/Mike Heuerman, OL-Denver Kirkland/Marcell Lazard, DL-Deadrin Senat/Keith Bryant/Justin Manning/Jordan Sherit LB-Micheal Deeb/Geroge Williams, CB-Vernon Hargreaves, S-Leon McQuay...Thats my 16 player wish list, which is probably around the # we will have.

Booker T. Washington has a LB named Matt Thomas we should be in the running for.

Should be a smaller, but more talent packed class. It will be less about addressing needs and more about stacking premium talent.

I'd expect most 4th year juniors to move on next year unless they're real contributors. There's a LOT of dead wood on the roster still. Guys like Cornelius, Payne, Rodgets, S. Green, L. Rob, C. White, Dye, these guys are going to be asked to move on unless they step up significantly. D. Hall is likely gone already.

I assume Wells, Alexis aren't back next year. Maybe King, too?

won't be a small class.

There will still be a bunch of attrition under a new regime.

on top of that... when is the last time that an entire group of recruits that sign on the dotted line one year are still around the following year?

Has it ever happened?

Last year we lost Crooms, not sure if there were other casualties... but the bottom line is this.

There will be more than 15 schollies next year.

There will be MUCH more than 15 schollies next year.

I count 67 current roster players including the EEs. We received 24 commits today. However, according to Mr. Blue, he will only be here in the fall if another commit does not qualify. .

Not true.

Mr. Blue said:

"There are three different scenarios coach Barrow told me," Blue said. "It depends what Avery Young does. If he commits I have to wait on someboy that doesn't qualify; they have someone that's shaky right now. If Avery Young doesn't commit then I get that scholarship. And the third option is grayshirt. That's okay with me."

Obviously Avery Young did not choose us... Therefore Blue should be expected on campus this summer. If what he and Barrow are saying is true.

Funny about the "they have someone that's shaky right now" comment.

Any chance that isn't referencing Angelo Jean-Louis??

lol

Olsen, Jamal Carter, Leon McQuay, Matt Thomas, and the DL should be our top targets. Hargreaves would be gravy, but I expect it to be an all our war for him. Everyone wants him bad.

Next years class will probably be in the 16/17 range and thats if we don't get hammeed with schollie reductions. We have to be down to 85 this year and we'll probably end up with 12-13 sr's. Figure a couple jr's at most leave early and maybe they ask a few extra kids to find a new home and that gives us 16/17. Maybe take an extra 1 or 2 assuming 1 might not get in due to grades.

On a side note - We'll probably be taking a kicker or punter next year. Botts and Wieclaw will both be sr's right?

1 QB
1 RB
1 TE
2 WR
2 OL
3 DL
2 LB
1 DB
1 K

Thats 14... maybe they have an extra 2 or 3 if we don't lose many.

2-3 Ath

I don't get why people think we're going to be so tight next year.

Seniors this coming year: RRA, VT, Highsmith, McGee, R. Buch, Holton, B. Jones, J. Lewis, K. Thompkins, D. Johnson, Calhoun, M. James, Botts, Wieclaw (14)

Juniors this coming year who may not be back for the following year: Cornileus, Payne, Rodgers, Cain, Gains, S. Green, L. Rob, Dye, C. White (9)

Guys who could go pro early: S. Henderson (1)

Right there that's 24 potential spots. Now some kids won't get in, some will leave we don't expect. We'll sign 22+ I'd expect.

I have for seniors (13) next year:
Ray Ray
Dalton Botts
AJ Highsmith
CJ Holton
Mike James
Davon Johnson
Ben Jones
Jeremy Lewis
McGee
Darius Smith
Telemaque
Thompkins
Wieclaw
Buchanan? (Although I thought he got denied his extra year)

Candidates to leave (8)?
Junior Alexis
Shayon Green
Darion Hall
Seantreal Henderson (leaving early)
Keion Payne
Billy Sanders
Hunter Wells
Corey White

Plus there will be a surprise transfer or 2

Thats 21 kids.

Golden said in the press conference that they will have 80 or so players on scholarship this season. Let's say 82 minus 13 seniors and 5 other casualties leaves them at 64 which would allow a class of at least 21. So by the time everything is said and done they will be in the 20-25 range pending any sanctions.

Yea.. Golden's presser was strange on that subject.

He made it a point to talk about how we have such low numbers and that it looks like we will be playing with only 80 kids next year.

****.. if that's true... there's a ton of kids leaving that we don't know about.

Also tells you a little about what their plans were after the season.

They were going to sign 25 2012 kids and count a bunch back to 2011 no matter what. Then the Streeter, Forston, BWash, Vernon stuff happened and that left em around 80-81.

Maybe he'll let a few kids stay that were thinking about moving on.

crazy.
