On Ed Reed

Ed is legit on of the GOATs (along from Sean T, of course) and as such devoted his entire life to football, and gave the Canes and the Ravens everything he had. I can understand not wanting to commit again to a 24/7 grind that is coaching college football. I can see him wanting to take a few years off (or working as a consultant in a very limited capacity) until he is ready to fully commit. I think we shouldn't let whatever it was that happened on the Diaz regime with Ed taint our view on one of the greatest Canes to ever wear the U. I will definitely be curious if he takes on a role with Cristobal what that would be. I trust that if Cristobal allows it, that means Ed is 100% in and ready to grind, cause Mario is non-stop.

It’s always tough for this guys who were elite athlete who also have elite instincts/football intelligence to translate to coaching. They just see and feel the game way differently than the average D1 player. And guys like that lose their patience quickly with players who don’t perform at the level they did.

You are 100% correct... Ed has maybe the greatest instincts ive ever seen in football... that is not something that can be taught

- Ed was used as a Christmas tree ornament by Manny & Co. solely for recruiting purposes and he was never happy with that role.
- Ed was not allowed to coach in any way or even provide key feedback to players on performance by Manny.
- Ed felt marginalized by Manny and that arrangement was blessed by Blake James.
- It is likely that Ed won’t come back as of right now.

We should be thanking Ed and his love for the program while dealing with all of this political bullshat.

What? Ok I will give you HC but he has said that he wants to be a DC. He also worked with Bolden and Williams both with film and practice.
