OMG Shocking!

Are there stats on when and where they do it?
It seems to me teams do it early and often in their own half of the field against us.
I am sure that stat is out there somewhere for those willing to pay but yes ,it just makes sense that teams will gamble more on 4th down against us knowing that we are likely to score no matter our field position.

Wow, I can’t believe they’re not dead last. It’s felt like they’ve eaten **** the entire conference play schedule!

That was all FBS teams with a winning record, not just ACC schedule. So UiF and USF stats are included there, but no Cal or Wake stats, etc.

We give up too many explosives and we are awful in the redzone. Both of these are why we are giving up too many points. Teams are getting TDs, not FGs on drives we do give up points. Even the best defenses will give up some drives but limiting big plays and forcing FGs in the red zone keep their scoring numbers down.

I have been saying this all season but our Defense is not as bad as people say it is.

But the D is also not as good as we all want it to be (obviously).

As has been said ad nausueam our tackling is not up to par and neither is the communication in the back 7. We also seem to be so bad in key moments on 3rd down and 4th down.
We're top 15 in the P4 on 3rd down % and 1st downs allowed.

Y'all will ignore 15+ metrics that prove we aren't exceptionally bad on defense when compared to the rest of college football and choose to fixate on one or two stats (while ignoring the context) that "prove" we suck.

There is no hope for this PTSD ridden fanbase.
