Exactly. Best case, we land a blue chipper. This kid sits for 2-3 years and is a serviceable back up. It’s going to be nearly impossible to stack blue chippers year after year and not have some attrition in today’s game. Need these guys to hold the roster together.I wouldn’t be surprised if we take other guys like this at other positions. These are the type of kids who before the scholarship rule, we couldn’t add because there wasn’t room. Then when they go to another small school and play well, we all ask ourselves how we missed them. There is zero risk in taking Sparks. Worst case is he’s depth piece at center who is a great leader/locker room guy
Same I have no idea about this dude, or even know anything about OL. I just form an opinion of what I think I see.Out of general curiosity, how many of our CIS posters have ever played Oline at the high school level or beyond, or have coached Oline?
I find it hard to believe that everyone who has offered an opinion knows enough about how high school Oline translates to into college Oline to have an opinion, good or bad. In fact, I would venture to say most of the people offering opinions really don’t have a clue how to evaluate the skills and physical attributes needed for a college Olineman.
Which leads to my next question. If you don’t have knowledge or expertise, then what are you basing your opinion on?
Answer; rankings, and how much other people on CIS have discussed a player and said they like or want that player in this recruiting class.
Remind me never to accept investment advice from the majority of you. You would tell me to buy a stock because you heard some guys talking it up, or because Motley Fool gave it a high rating. And in both cases, Oline and stocks, you would be providing an uneducated, uniformed opinion.
Personally, I don’t know if this young man will be any good. And as a result I am offering NO OPINION. Consider doing the same when you don’t know anything.

Lol JJ FaddSounds like an 80s rap group name.
No Mario and Mirabel said let's just throw the kid a bone and take him even though he isn't very good. You can question a myriad of things with Mario, but OL recruiting is not one of them!Is this kid really a take in the best OL year ever?
And in today's show on CIS:Is this kid really a take in the best OL year ever?
That's his nephew**** we got bubba sparks son?
This kid is better than Merit. Go watch the film. For real we got Ryan Merritt, Pickett, Kolojay, Carr and several other high caliber interior guys before I would even think about Sparks

Coaches told him he was offered because he plays w/violence. Offered in Janauary and multiple visits since (Prospect day and a spring practice). Committed to the Canes on April 2, 2025.

Thank you. With the new scholarship rules, it allows the staff to have room for guys like this. Mirabal clearly see’s something in him, so he’s a take in my book. To me, there is absolutely zero risk in taking players like this. Some of you need to relax lol
Check the wingspan. And the IQ.
Also, per @Paranos , we should investigate the circumference of the maternal thighs...

I get questioning certain commits at certain positions, but offensive line questioning should not happen. We’ve been elite w recruiting and development w MarioThis kid is a stud
You think?Uh, yeah, Canon's not losing his spot.
Let’s chill out with this stuff pleaseI get questioning certain commits at certain positions, but offensive line questioning should not happen. We’ve been elite w recruiting and development w Mario
I’ll add Cooper was being recruited as a DL, and Cooper told Mario he wanted to play right guardLet’s chill out with this stuff please
In 2022 we got Cooper and McCoy. Coop obviously from day 1 has been much better than his ranking. McCoy seems to have potential but we will see if he takes the step this year
2023
Mauigoa: elite
Samson: ?
Tripp: gone
Kinsler: ?
Tinilau: gone
2024
Bell: starter

Minaya: ?
Nino: ?
I think they are great coaches and recruiters but let’s chill with this whole “there’s no questioning the staff on OL” stuff I’m not seeing where this urban legend is coming from yet
I’m not questioning this kid because I don’t know enough about him or OL but to say fans should never question anything about OL is too much
