Oh Golden, says Dorito is working hard

This is actually what I was hoping to see from coach Golden today. Its the dreaded, "statement of confidence."

dorito gone after our early december bowl game. Gone like a piece of chocolate cake on the kitchen table when your stoner roommate gets home.

I'd put money on it, dorito will be here for next season. Dude helped to produce THE WORST DEFENSE IN UM HISTORY LAST YEAR AND WAS KEPT ON STAFF. Nothing else needs to be said. Golden won't get rid of him for whatever reason.

Unless forced by Blake James, obviously D'Onofrio will be back. Best guess is Jethro Franklin is thrown under the bus and dumped (which is definitely a good thing), but D'Onofrio will be retained. Will be difficult to replace Jethro's exotic mix of horrible recruiter / horrible coach.

Would make me feel better if I heard Golden say ... yeah the defense is and has been among the worst in school history. But you gotta remember, Mark is only putting in around 25 or 30 hours a week tops. In fact, we're looking at that. Seeing if his schedule will free up so he can squeeze in a few more hours. At the end of the day, these other coaches are working a lot more hours, big disadvantage for Mark.

If Dorito and some other staff changes are not made at the end of the year, I'm done with Golden, wont contribute and wont be going to any games. Too bad cus I was planning on the Nebraska and VT games next year.

D is gone. There's no other way regardless of what golden wants. It'll happen. For now we're stuck. Golden doesn't want to run the D and we don't have anyone else who can IMO. Firing D now would make a statement but it wouldn't do anything else. He'll be gone at season's end.

I believe you are right. It also gives them time to make it look like it was D'Onofrio's decision.

Why do you say that?

For two reasons:

1) Because we've seen it plenty of times before someone gets fired, they get a vote of confidence. What else can he say? He's not going to fire him mid-season.

and

2) Because back in college I had a stoner roommate eat a piece of chocolate cake that I left on the kitchen table. And even though I gave my roommate a personal vote of confidence, it was gone when I woke up.

If d'onifrio stays that will be it for me. Have put up with all our bull **** for the past 8 years and never gave up on our team ( of course I knew we sucked but I would still attend/ watch) but if we keep that fat fvck, that's it for me.

Praying it doesn't come to that, but for health reasons, I have to draw the line somewhere.

Tomorrow, 11/18, will be the anniversary of my 62nd year as a hurricane fan. It D'Onofrio doesn't go, it will be my last. I can find something else to do.

I simply refuse to believe Golden is stupid, foolish, or stubborn enough to bring back Dorito next year.

I'm working under the full assumption the decision has already been made and it's been arranged behind the scenes that he'll coach out the year and then be allowed to "resign" for whatever politically correct public bs reason so as to save face.

If this isn't the case.....I'm officially off the Golden bandwagon and he enters Randy Shannon territory in my eyes.
