I love that the Mods combine infor because it keeps the boards free of clutter. However, with the amount of information coming in and how quickly it will be coming in, is it possible to keep a summary of allegations and charges that are known for the investigation pinned to the top? I'm sure others would like to just keep a summary. For instance:
Known Allegations as of 2/21/2013
University of Miami: Alleged Lack of Institutional Control
-Per AP, Shapiro provided $170,000 worth of extra benefits to Miami
-$90,000 of that money was in effort to sign Vince Wilfork and Antrel Rolle to a sports agency
-$56,000 was spent on football for "meals, entertainment, clothing, jewlery, travel, lodging and cash" on football players, recruits and staff.
-NCAA alleges that money was spent on 72 then-players, three recruits, and 12 "friends and family members" (this averages out to $643.68 per person)
-Basically all of the players listed had been out of the program from several years
-Per Steve Walentik, NCAA dropped allegation of $10,000 payment for hoops (Jake Morton's NOA)
-Per AP, Shapiro also bought a suit for former Miami star running back Willis McGahee to wear to the Heisman Trophy ceremony in 2002.
-Other allegations include that he paid for dinners at Benihana, televisions, sneakers, Miami Heat tickets, bowling parties, one player's engagement ring, a used washer-dryer set for current New England Patriots lineman Vince Wilfork, and that he directed his girlfriend to give two former Hurricanes no-show jobs for a couple of months."
Frank Haith (Now at Mizzou): Alleged Failure to Monitor
-Did not promote an "atmosphere of compliance" specific to Haith's handling of Shapiro's request for money to keep recruiting violations from going public. Haith paid Shapiro per NOA.
-NOA claims that once Haith learned of the threat, he should have gone straight to Morton and ask reasonable questions to ensure that Shapiro's claims lacked merit.
Aubry Hill (Now unemployed): Per AP reports, will receive Rule 10.1 Unethical Conduct for "Misleading Probe"
