**Official Canes in NFL Training Camp Thread**

If DVD turns into a legit starting corner in the NFL there's some kind of []_[] magic going on in the NFL. He didn't show anywhere near that kind of ability or potential in college.

Are you talking about run support or cover ability?

For some reason,it still bothers me when dudes act like DVD was a scrub. The man gave up ONE **** TD his last two years of college.(Greg Little) He's not the most physical, but The man can flat out cover. You can't take that away from him.
Exactly!

DVD was one dimensional, but not the crap people like to paint...

you would think we had a horrible secondary based on how people like to paint things. Had the #1 pass efficiency defense with him, Ryan Hill, Brandon Harris, VT and Ray Ray. VT and Ray Ray are horrible according to most now and Ryan Hill never was any good, neither was DVD according to the same folk. Only Harris gets recognized as being slightly above average. VT and Ray Ray just fit the old defense better than the current one. Almost never had to cover more than half the field before so their lack of speed wasn't as big of an issue. Make them cover even 3/4 the field and its painfully obviously they both are SLOW. Sometimes its just about guys fitting the system.

DVD couldn't play the ball to save his life but he'd be in the back pocket of the WR every time just about. So its still hard to get a completion - good ball skills and he'd have picked off a lot of passes though since he was in position to do so a number of times.

i think our fans forget to compare guys to regular players. we end up comparing everyone to Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle, Vilma, Sapp and other all time greats. Forget that Markese Fitzgerald played a ton on championship teams. Forget Darrell McClover made like 2 plays his entire time here but still was a starter and contributor. Not everyone's great. Almost is either be great or you're a bum. Delusional.

Detroit Lions Tackle Jason Fox

In the same pass rush drill, Fox was pure gold at LT. Fox faced off with the best that the defense threw at him and prevailed.

There was a very pleasant surprise when Fox moved over to RT; he’s much improved in his technique over his truncated 2011 preseason. Fox now looks like he can take snaps at either position at a high level of performance.

In today’s practice, Fox and Reiff shared snaps at RT. While Reiff continued to struggle, it was Fox that looked very solid in a full contact red zone segment.

Not training camp, but I just saw that Antonio Dixon got the start at DT for Philly last night.

LaRon Byrd has had a nice couple of games for Arizona; its looking promising for him to make that roster, at worst be on the practice squad.

Dwayne Hendricks played well for my World Champion Giants last night; collapsed the pocket and pursued well in the run game.
