I say shirt Sonny. No need for him to play with Flowers, Henderson, Bunche and Gadbois all being available next season.

Then he'll see one of those bitties in some booty shorts his first day on campus and his eyes will bug out of his head like that dude in the row boat that Rodney Dangerfeld ran over in Caddyshack, and all that robot **** will fly right out the window.

Seriously though, I love Sunny and will guarantee you guys that he will be a great player. He's got everything you could ax for.

When I think of Sunny I think of that NBA game several years ago when Manute Bol got into a fight and the dude ran from him. Some player after the game said, "that dude used to kill lions with a stick in Africa. I ain't fugging with him either."

I'll ax for a lot.

I can imagine this kid dragging Kehoe out of bed at 3 AM and telling him to teach him. This kid is one that has no priorities such as TV, parties, fame. Just wants to create a great career for himself. Cant wait for him on that line.

Kehoe sleeps?

no, kehoe will be dragged out of bed at 3 am, however he will not be asleep when he is dragged out. he will merely be keeping his wife company as she sleeps, however he will be fapping to pictures of miami hurricanes from the 90's through the early 2000's. seriously, he will be beating his meat to players, corches, coaches, and facilities of the past. it is possible he will secretly be fapping to the current oline and al golden as well. but that is merely speculation

We need either him, Kerr or Gadbois to step up as a 3rd Tackle in 2014. Very, very important.

No way Kerr's a game ready OT by '14, IMO. He's got a lot of body changing to do first.

Add Kirkland and Feliciano to your mix, if neither Gadbois not this guy step up. Either could slide over in a pinch.

I think Darling is more likely to be ready to contribute as a true freshman in 2014 than this guy or Kerr. I see both as long term projects.

Yeah, I agree with DCH. I think this kid is a couple years away. he should have been SMASHING those little white kids. I saw a very upright large kid. I think he has a ton of potential but he is going to look small/skinny and weak next Seantrel and Bunche. Those two are MONSTERS! They could play better but they are quite the spectacle to look at. However give this kids a couple yrs of Utough and LOOK out! I like his background of hoops, and his natural size and desire to improve. You just dont find em his size every day. Lets go Sonny!

IIRC, Bunche really grew into a Beast at a military prep school, Milford, before coming to TheU. Let's hope Sonny is following the same path. Sonny=BEAST

I wasn't giving an opinion as to what I project from Kerr. I just know he's one of the options. There are the two HS seniors (Darling and Mcdermottbrother), but I really rather not depend on a true Frosh to contribute. Erek Flowers isn't your ordinary dude. What he did this year was special.

Think she works at the 24HR Fitness off Carribean as a personal trainer, she has clippings of him all over her cubicle...if it is the lady I am thinking about....she bad...thought she was his sister

http://vimeo.com/m/32893956 highlights from his senior year first year playing football nasty

Just from looking at this hi-lite I see a raw kid, who was told to keep blocking his man down field till the whistle blows, who was coached to keep his hands inside, notice how after 10 yds of blocking his man down field he raises his arms and hands in the Im not holding move. The comp was bad, puny white guys. But what I got out of this is that he listens to coaches.Probably a guard. JMO

I feel bad for some of these kids. We laugh about that no sunshine thing, but this dude used to sleep in the ******* dirt outside of a hut. Jamal Carter hears gun shots every day and someone in his neighborhood dies once a week. Showing up to Coral Gables and looking at fountains and palm trees all day has to be like heaven for them. Jamal eats bread and rotten cheese on his sandwiches. A **** meal plan is probably amazing to him.

These dudes make the best players, though. They don't have time to **** around and not be motivated.
Be careful about essentializing the experiences of those who grew up poor in other countries, in particular. A lot of folks who are destitute by Western financial metrics grow up happy (i.e., sunshine) with loving families. They just don't have material things that we have convinved ourselves are essential for happiness in the West.

There wasn't even enough room in his one room hut for him to find a spot on the floor to sleep. He had to sleep on the ground outside where he was bit by swarms of African mosquitos every night. We're not talking about a lack of cable television or the new Jordans. Let's not diminish the hardships he endured. We're all very, very lucky.
You pretty much illustrate my point even as you seem to miss it. I'm surely not suggesting many people here aren't lucky. But too many people here, yourself included, apparently, seem to measure 'luck' in material terms. The reality is that there are things that matter a lot more than creature comforts in childrens' lives. Things like family, love, faith and character. Those things don't cost anything. I point this out because my comment was directed at the 'no sunshine' quip, which has become a meme here.

Third world poor is a very interesting thing. People who grow up with nothing in many countries don't define themseles by what they lack, and often have the positive human and spiritual support (family, love, faith) that can be the basis for a happy childhood (i.e., sunshine) and launching pad to success if they get the right opportunities. Manute Bol, who grew up killing lions with a spear, happened to be known as one of the nicest, funniest guys in the NBA. And one of the best read, incidentally. By contrast, many who grow up with relatively more in the US (by comparison to 'third world poor') do so in a culture that defines them anyhow by what they lack, and without much in the way of human and spiritual support. Those are the 'no sunshine' kids for the most part.

For that reason, I find your suggestion that we 'shouldnt diminish the hardships he endured' to be strange. No one has diminished anything, but let's not essentialize him or romanticize his hardships, either. There are a LOT of kids in this country who grow up with more material goods than Odogwu, who nevertheless are unlucky because they have ****ed up families and live in ****ed up communities. Even the poor kids we recruit tend to have smart phones in their pockets and flat screen TVs in their homes these days.

Sure, Odogwu wants to seize the chance to improve his life, as anyone would. But that doesn't mean he had a 'no sunshine' childhood, and I'd caution folks against glibly assuming Odogwu would trade his childhood for those of all the other kids we recruit, just because they had a pillow and didnt have to hunt their food. And yet if you accept that he wouldn't, you landed at my point.
