yeah he originally came to America for basketball but was a little to aggressive so they got him to go try out for football....and so far so good

i wish I could be @ Greentree for the first practice. I know our boys on the team practice hard, but I wish I could be there the first time this kid comes off the ball. I can imagine people just in awe. Not necessarily at his talent/abilities, but his heart and desire. His will to win each snap, each rep. I'm telling you...Not only is this kid a good get because he will be a great player at his actual position, but hes a good get because he is going to rub off on the other kids. Don't lack intensity in practice anymore...it ain't safe.

I feel bad for some of these kids. We laugh about that no sunshine thing, but this dude used to sleep in the ****ing dirt outside of a hut. Jamal Carter hears gun shots every day and someone in his neighborhood dies once a week. Showing up to Coral Gables and looking at fountains and palm trees all day has to be like heaven for them. Jamal eats bread and rotten cheese on his sandwiches. A **** meal plan is probably amazing to him.

These dudes make the best players, though. They don't have time to **** around and not be motivated.

Be careful about essentializing the experiences of those who grew up poor in other countries, in particular. A lot of folks who are destitute by Western financial metrics grow up happy (i.e., sunshine) with loving families. They just don't have material things that we have convinved ourselves are essential for happiness in the West.

No Flowers type impact for Sonny next season. IMO this kid could really benefit from a solid RS season and let him compete for a job his RS frosh season in 2014.
