Retire 98 too imo

This is my only issue with retiring numbers. There are soooo many all time greats that played here and some that tragica died too soon, where do you stop with number retiring.

I agree, ST is my favorite cane ever but there's alot of greats who deserve there number retired too. Im all for it but i see why they haven't retired his number yet

I posted this multiple times the last couple years , Manny was close after that L. But some people thought one year was too soon, even if it’s the worse loss in history.

I dont support retiring numbers. I support players earning them, making only all americans at that position play in them. Legit all americans or award winners etc. I want to be reminded of the greats not hung up and forgotten

Rudy came off great in that interview. Like Mario, he exuded genuineness and a no bull**** approach. If we spend the next 6 months instilling only that into the program’s culture, we’ll see enormous changes on the field. Substance over hype!

Basically it was Mario or bust as reported....crisis averted.

I don't think there was ever a crisis to avert.

Theoretically, you want a Plan B and Plan C—but have to believe everyone the was part of the movement knew that Plan A was an absolute lock and that if Miami ever had money and the Columbus mafia was on board, that Mario Cristobal would've crawled on broken glass from Eugene to Coral Gables to take over at his alma mater.

Miami needed Mario and Mario needed Miami, which is why this all came together. This was a burn-the-boats move, because UM was confident it was getting its guy. There was no need for Plan B. Plan A was a lock.

Correct , he’s one of the good guys through all of this. They were the ones looking into the athletic dept and came away saying changes were needed.
