That's not what he said at all - he gave an extremely non-committal answer. "We liked Diaz, but felt it was in our best interest to pursue Cristobal" is not 'Cristobal or bust'.

I mean, what do you want him to say at this point? Diaz was not going to be kept, the school would never have been able to hire Rad if they had made him keep Diaz.

If they had doubts about being able to get Cristobal, I'm sure there would have been more of a search
