Notice of Allegations *update*

"On Monday morning, colleague Jeff Goodman reported that former Miami Hurricanes and current Missouri basketball coach Frank Haith is expected to be charged with unethical conduct and failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance as related to the NCAA's investigation into the Nevin Shapiro scandal. Another active coach who is expected to be informed of hefty allegations from the NCAA investigation when the Notice of Allegations is delivered, a source told CBSSports.com, is former UM assistant Clint Hurtt, the current Louisville defensive line coach/associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Cardinals.

"They are pretty much throwing everything at him," the source said of Hurtt. "They have him on essentially everything that was brought to the attention of the NCAA, some of which has been publicly known because of (Shapiro) but there are some other things that did not involve Shapiro that they're charging him with."

The source added that after the NCAA began investigating Shapiro's claims, student-athletes detailed other things done by Hurtt and Aubrey Hill, another former UM assistant who had resigned from Florida weeks before the start of the 2012 season. The coaches (or their attorneys) have been notified over the phone that they will cited for "unethical conduct", better known in NCAA circles as a violation of Bylaw 10.1, said the source.

Among the charges the NCAA will allege against the former UM football assistants are impermissible transportation, impermissible lodging as well as impermissible benefits, the source said."
More?!?

Tchau, Hurtt...

Just hope they didn't find so much extra that it hurts us

this man. this X 1000. idk why people are openly celebrating the assistants getting hit this hard. this means (possibly) we'll get hit hard too. if they're gonna give these guys show-causes and ****, it will roll down hill on the university, or vice-versa depending how you look at it, that we're getting hammered and this is the **** rolling down hill on them. Hope to be wrong though.

Rest easy, friend. Plenty of programs have had corches get show causes since Emmert took over, and none of them were destroyed with scholarship or bowl bans. Look at UNC (assistant HC Blake was the bagman and was proven to be directly in business with agent Wichard), Ohio Taint (HC Tressell show caused), and UCF (UCF's AD Tribble was actually for show-caused for blatantly cheating) for some reassurance.

Chise,

If I remember correctly, this is playing out just how you had expected. Am I correct?

Sure looks that way. I'm sure all my pals on RCT are crediting me for leading them through it and talking them off the ledge. LULZ

LOL. If they do, no one will ever admit it.

SIAP

No surprise. RT @BFeldmanCBS: ...told Clint Hurtt got his call from NCAA (Shapiro case) & "they're pretty much throwing everything at him."

What was Chise's prediction of how this would end?

In the initial furor when everyone was thinking we were going to get crushed, I broke down all the precedent since Emmert took over and explained that his emphasis appeared to be on punishing the corches/administrators involved and also in favoring some degree of uniformity in punishments. I stated that the corches would get hammered before anyone was talking about show-causes and thought that our scholarship losses wouldn't be debilitating when everyone was thinking we'd get killed.

Now, it seems like a lot of guys are talking about skating and show causes, but back when I was talking about show causes no one was; they were talking about us getting wiped out with scholarship losses.

Thanks. If you had to guess, do we get another bowl ban? I readily admit I have no ******* clue what I'm talking about when it comes to what we're going to get.

I was with you the whole time.

I remember the constant fights of standards of proof, evidentiary matters and how truthful Nevin Shapiro is.

It would be absurd if we got another Bowl Ban.

Quick Question for the board.

What would you rather have a loss of scholarships over next 3 years (say 15-20) and no bowl ban.
OR
No Scholarship reduction but, one more bowl ban.

IMO, FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCK NO. After UCF and BSU I felt good after we sat one. Nobody ever self-imposed two, we were the first. We were told by Mark Emmert that we were "incredibly cooperative" (“The reality is that Miami, the university, has been incredibly cooperative,” Emmert said. “[Miami] President Shalala is doing an incredible job of interacting with us. Donna is doing a great job. She is being very, very helpful.").

We have great attorneys representing us, we have a guy with a vendetta against Miami who is not known to be truthful and his combination of drug dealing/prostitutes who were employed as "SOURCES", we were under investigation prior to the over-reaching Yahoo! Robinson piece of ****.

I think 2 was more than safe.

Wish this stuff would get finished so we can move on. I also don't know why people keep saying we skate. We have already been crushed by this NCAA **** show. It has cost us wins on the field, who knows what recruits, and we've missed 2 bowl games and the ACC title game. It will be a travesty if we get hit with severe scholarship reductions after all we've already lost. Anything more than 12 over 3 years is bull **** and I don't think we even deserve that.

Anyone find it interesting that the NCAA is leaking on the 4 hoops coaches, Hurtt and Hill, but not the University? From the sound of it, the hoops program is going to face a bigger penalty than the football program. Will it be tough to claim control, when your recruiting coordinators are out there violating so many rules? The good news is that with these coaches involved, they will mount a vigorous defense because their livelihoods are at stake. The more their lawyers can tear apart the NCAA's case, the better it is for the university. I'm wondering also, if certain coaches were given immunity.

I think that's a very low possibility. Almost no chance of that.
