Notes On Jesus Machado's Offer

yall acting like Machado is a scrub..far from it... Bama offered him at 14 when he was ballin at LB...when he transferred to Central, they moved him to DE and it didnt go well... now he is back at Champagnat, he is at LB and having a monster senior year... take him n develop him

Cave, Hyppolite, Flagg, and Zeus is a good class.

If you don't get one of the top guys - Flowe, Hyppolite, Greene, Cooper - its not a great class.

This actually would explain why this morning on the Joe Rose show he said something cryptic and I didn't understand what he meant but now I do..he said, "I know the coaches love Dade, Broward and WPB county when it comes to recruiting and that's great but it might be time to go out of state and look for kids too. Out of state kids who want to be here and can play". Might have had nothing to do with Flagg but the timing was weird. It would explain why he said it at that moment though.

For the record, I don't agree with dropping Flagg. For any reason.

Flagg has grade issues from what i heard....only reason he will be dropped.. and with new rule in.place that even if a kid dont qualify, u cant get that scholly back..it counts toward your 85

Actually Bama (like everyone else) offered him based on production at that age (at DE) and considering size of his father projected him to be bigger than he is.

I like his film but this is why a lot of people cooled seeing he was a DE until this season

Agreed. If he doesn’t have grade issues then I hope they keep Flagg. I think he could be a good LB here. May not start consistently but the kid seems smart, works his tail off and is a super productive LB. Would not be a bad second stringer.
 
If he only becomes Mike Smith...he's still worth the offer.

There is low key growth potential, too. Couldn't shock me if he has a growth spurt.

Joe Rose aint connected to recruiting at UM. He was just speaking at face value

Yeah i'm not buying that at all. His tape doesn't scream 4.61....and anything from a coach is hand timed and inflated, probably at least 0.1

If he's 4.7 that's still ok for a big LB, but i've read he was huge back in 8th/9th grade and hasn't grown a ton since. Any chance he's maxed out already?

The maxed out thing is what I worry with Machado. I also see the straight line speed, but a little leary of change of direction...Seems to have decent instincts and fends off blocks decent for a kid 1st year playing backer.
