Note on Jalil Bethea

I could do without Jalil. He has talent, but attitude matters and his stinks. Do you realize how much of a *ss*hole you have to be for someone like Coach L to give up on dealing with you? The rumors we heard about him coming in were proven to be accurate as all ****, and it didn't even take long for him to show that he has serious maturity issues. If he consistently challenged an experienced, successful veteran coach, he will likely try a first time HC.

There are far too many mature, coachable, talented adults out there in the portal, for Miami to put up with that kind of nonsense. Maybe Bethea having to humble himself at a midmajor or a lower tier P4 program is what he needs to go through.

As Bethea himself said when he entered the portal, the door is still open on a return to Miami.

Can confirm as of this afternoon that there is still a solid possibility of that return. From the player’s side there is a ton of interest. Miami would like him back as well, but there’s also a musical chairs factor of NIL involved and other portal/recruiting targets as well. We will see how it unfolds

This would be great but with Divine hitting the portal and nothing from Shwartz how realistic is this of actually happening?

Would love for him to be back on roster. But the 5 star attached to his name will not allow him to be a “role player”. How anyone watched that high school tape and said this kid is a 5 star is beyond me. It’s not a Timberlake bad assessment but it’s pretty bad. He can’t guard a chair, can’t go by anyone, and lacks a serious part of the mental game based on what we saw last year.

Barring a massive offseason from him he’s a p4 contributor and is better suited coming off bench on a good team.
