this guy was one of the best players we ever had playing LB, and certainly the cream of the crop from 2008 NW "once-in-a-lifetime" (i hope so) class.
 
Pretty underrated overall by our fans. Not his fault he played on bad teams with bad DLs. Beast and left it out there every game. True Cane

Would have been crazy to see him play on an old school UM defense. Spence had a knack for finding the ball and could really lay the lumber for a kid his size.

Hope he can make it....

....but the kid was not one of the great Cane LBs. I actually think most fans overrate, not underrate him, due to how he was used as a frosh in the zone blitz scheme.

He had good instincts, but was too small, slow, and showed no weight room dedication to be considered one of the great Cane LBs.
 
I'm happy to hear he is fighting back. Would love to see him get back on the field this season.
