Nick Roberts

Gotta say I hate when this thread comes up because I don't think there should even be a debate on whether this kid is a take. His tape is good, he's got speed and ridiculously strong for his size.
I understand we're going after corners that are "rated higher" but you gotta take this guy. Also none of us know him personally, except maybe Shaq's dad, but it seems like he'll bust his *** to improve if he became a Cane.

I believe that last catch would be considered a drop by NFL standards b/c he didn't complete the catch all the way through. Lol

Love Nick, man. UKnowWhat said his stats wouldn't be mind boggling b/c teams don't throw to his side. He's a must get, imo. We need to start having more true football players on this team...here's a kid, I feel, will be playing on Sundays b/c he wants it and he has a chip on his shoulder.

Kid is a take all day! Great work ethic, smart and talented! A must get for this class, in my opinion.
 
And there were posters on here saying to just brush him off and let him go. Smh. Been a fan ever since his measurables were confirmed. Plus it never hurts to keep that J-ville pipeline going. Glad he is going to camps letting the coaches know that he belongs.

Unfortunately for Roberts, this is an unusually deep year for CB prospects in the Dade, Broward and Palm Beach areas.

It looks like our CB board looks something like this:

Tier #1

CJ Henderson (Commit)
Latavious Brini
Marco Wilson
Shawn Davis

Roberts is probably at the top of Tier #2. We are probably going to let the top tier decide before we lock in Roberts.

I think its a mistake...Roberts is a very solid prospect.

CJ Henderson doesn't even play DB in high school, Brini is the real deal, Marco Wilson is solid but he's coming off ACL surgery, Davis may or may not be heavily involved with Florida right now.

Roberts is a true corner, no injury concern, true 100% cane, hard worker, good size/speed/strength combo. I'm taking him all day

This dude has more intimate knowledge of what our coaches are thinking than anyone.
 
UKnowWhat, I believe you said in another OP that Nick came with you to one of the scrimmages and that the coaches had a talk with him. Do you know or can you share what they told Nick?
