Nick Roberts

If he got a ratings boost or a bunch of SEC everybody here would want him.

That's the issue. If he is as good as some keep saying why aren't more big schools beating down the door to get him?

Now I think he is solid from what I have seen and would take him if I was bringing in a big db class but I just was wondering what's the problem.

When they do come it'll be too late , and Mark my words " they will"

His ranking on 247 is constantly dropping too. They have him at #77 in the state now. There must be something these coaches and recruiting services are seeing that they don't like.

247 sure likes him more than Shawn Davis , the same Shawn Davis that majority folks here want ( including me). There's nothing about Roberts not to like . From intangibles , physically and in game . So I give two ***** what 247 thinks .

He's a really good player that'll end up at a bigtime program when it's said and done . I just hope it's us

We'll see. Davis has offers from the big programs though. I think roberts is solid but I don't think the big schools are going to come calling.

If the staff doesn't change their mind, I see him ending up at a mid tier program. I think like a unc, pitt, GT, and etc is where he will end up if not here.

I know we're all fans of the program, and believe we're just the right coach away from being elite again. Which may be true ...

But based on the last decade, WE are a mid tier program. So, if Roberts comes to Miami ... He'll still be coming to a mid tier program.

. Funny thing is I keep reading we're getting so many ***** star studs.lol. when you rebuild a program the only way is to recruit kids Roberts with sure fire "speed" hieght and mechanics to play the position. If 5'10 is a concern its only height. What about his reach and wingspan ? Some kids be 6'0 wit short arms others vise-versa. Also, what about his vert? Nick looks like a solid built DB with all intangibles. Again, I don't see how you let Nick walk without replacing him first with a better prospect. At this point to those 'claiming' we're getting so called ***** studs are foolishly setting themselves up for a big disappointment. Lol. Not saying it can't happen, just let it all unfold.

No offense, but these "expert" recruiting services also had Khalil Mack as a 2 star LB. Most of the stars in the NFL, based upon their rankings coming out of high school, has no business even being in the NFL per these "expert" analysis. Granted, more 4 and 5 star players obviously succeed at the next level than the two and unranked star players, but I wouldn't judge a player solely on these rankings.

Thus far, from the highlights of the football season and what we've witnessed in the one on one drills, Roberts is aggressive with good, fluid hips. He has really, really good closing speed and shows sound technique. Running a 4.5 in the forty with his his strength is solid. He'll get faster on the next level with proper conditioning.

There was a time, most of your DBs were 5'9-5'11 and then the Seahawks introduced guys who were 6'2 and above and then everyone wanted the 6'2 and above DB. Roberts has good technique, strength, and vertical....and if his knock is that he's 5'10, then cats don't know football. I know a 5'8 DB playing in the NFL right now who keeps getting paid to stay in the league b/c he's a FOOTBALL player (see Pac Man Jones). Roberts is a take, period.

. Jackson lll Houston didnt have any stars on 247, scout. ESPN.... rivals3* Ath now he's a potential 1st rounder.....also smacked Dalvin Cook a few times added a late pic in bowl win over fsu! William Jackson, Houston, Cornerback.

I think the staff are looking for more size at corner. Henderson is 6'1, davis is 6'1, brini 6'2, edwards 6'3. Deon jones a big time dB from dc they are recruiting is 6'1 too.

Exactly!! Bruh, we can go on and on. Look, I love CMR as our new coach, but the last regime had a weight fetish and we missed out on a lot of guys who went to other programs and rocked our world when we played against them. I'm hoping CMR is not having a height fetish. We based our team upon football players, not weight or height and certainly not stars. If we did that, we wouldn't have Ed Reed, or Ray Lewis, or Santana Moss, or Roscoe Parrish or Jonathan Vilma just to name a few.

It's time to keep the best PLAYERS home, period. I think Nick is a real, real solid prospect...his tape don't lie and UknowWhat has vouched for him here and I'll take the word of the father who's been around this kid alot more than Miami's staff, or these so-called expert recruiting services.

It's the scheme, we're probably going to play a lot of press zone. Seattle plays that a lot and most of their corners are 6'0 or taller

True, and I'm not saying not go after the DBs u want, but u gotta keep this kid around. He's a press corner as well, so if height is an issue, put him in the slot. Or maybe, b/c of his strength and athleticism, he can play on the outside and be a route disrupter. My point is, u don't let a kid like this just walk just b/c he's 5'10.

Here's the funny thing about all this height talk. He may not being finished growing and grow right to were they want him. And the kids that are already 6'1 may still be growing too. They may grow right out of being the ideal height for cornerbacks. Being fluid and having the hips to play corner is something they may lose while growing.....ijs

No, not what I'm saying at all, everyone knows he wants to play with his HS teammates . My point is if he's being pushed out ( and it looks that way ) he'll end up at a great program . He's that good
