I Give AL two more years. In that time I believe the Canes can play for national championship

But but but......FSU fans say he sucks and Jimbo is so much better. Why isn't Jimbo in this convo!!!

Very telling

Al just needs to look at Schnellenberger, Erickson, and Butch to know how unloyal the NFL is and what those coaches careers could have been had they stayed at Miami.

Yeah, but he could also look at Jimmy Johnson, who is one of his close friends and say "You know what, the NFL might be a good idea."

I'm not at all saying he's going to leave. At least not anytime soon. He wants to be here in Miami. His family loves it here. Just thought it was interesting that you didn't bring up JJ.

JJ has said the best years of his life were at Miami. Don't think he'd counsel AG to go... especially without a NC.

I hope everyone here realizes that at some point coach Golden will move on. The hope is that he wins a title first.

that's been the Canes MO for decades. Find the young, up and coming head coach. Have him the run the show for 4-5 years, win the title then move on.

It wont be the end of the world if he leaves. Our program is in way better shape now than its been for the past decade.

Hopefully Coley is patient enough to wait for that moment.

hopefully UM wont hire any more coaches without prior head coaching experience. Coley is a ways away from being a qualified head coach. He's only been an OC for 2 years, yes? Dude needs to win a title at UM, then do a 3 year stint at Memphis State or Southern Miss, THEN come back to south Florida.

I agree with this in theory, I hate hiring a coordinator without head coaching experience BUT....if a coach was in the pros as a successful coordinator and was energetic and young, I wouldn't hate it.

some of us mentioned months ago that this was a legitimate concern.

i think it's not if, but when. i just hope the when is a couple years down the road. the guy is a stud CEO, which the NFL covets.
