Next years offense could be elite

Of course, this is all contingent on having a good QB.

We have elite playmakers on offense that we haven't seen in a long time...multiple gamebreakers on the field-Coley and Duke.

Both have the ability to take it to the house on every play. Sprinkle in a deep threat like Dorsett and a third receiver that is a gamebreaker (Waters) and we are explosive.

Biggest concerns for me is Tight end and Duke's durability but **** we got some scary weapons on offense. If one of those young buck RB recruits are the real deal then we gon' be gud.

I do feel Coley is fine as OC- he is stuck with a QB that literally is ****ed if his first option is covered. Give Coley a real QB and we will see a huge difference in efficiency.

I don't understand how people are okay with James Coley at the moment.

Otherwise I agree, we do have some nice weapons next year. Not a lot of teams have a RB and WR like Duke and Coley.

Consistency at QB is key of course, Duke will have quality depth behind him, and Scott and Dorsett will be back. On paper, yes, should be very good, keep this class intact and we will actually have quality depth and talent on this side of the ball.

If the first half of this game is a parallel of our future we may have nightmares because this roster of offense has talent minus Morris but our qb will have to get help from coaches in the off season

For those of you that think Williams is the answer you are kidding yourself I saw a memory of Jacory harris when he let that ball hang up in the air today in the 4th

I'll believe our O can be better next year when I see Duke run like he did before the broken ankle. I won't assume he's OK until I see it in a game.

I thought this was a bumped thread from last year. We said that going in, we dont even know who the most important piece will be. Then if they will be consistent or if we have to protect them.

Maybe by the end of the year we can be hitting our stride unless we got a Manziel/Mariota/Jameis sitting on the bench

There are a lot of plays that have been wide open for big plays that are ****** at Quarterback has missed which has certainly hurt our consistency this year.

Golden is in a tough spot at QB next year.

If the QB competition is close, he'll be compelled to give the job to the Senior. Could be bad for morale if the hot-shot Freshman gets the benefit of the doubt.

And if either guy struggles early, there will be a lot of pressure to go to the backup.

I'm hoping Olsen tears it up in the spring and fall and takes the reins.

Morris' first three throws today were absolute ****. Coley has nothing to do with that. Morris is not accurate.

Yea I liked Morris coming into this season but he seemed to regress. Some of the throws today he was chopping his feet in the pocket. Just never seemed comfortable. Too bad for a kid with such potential. I am scared about next season though. As much as Williams probably seems like the most experienced and best choice, he has no long term gain for the program. Gotta go with one of the younger guys IMO.

Morris has been a total handcuff on coley I think. The O has hit bumps at times this year but I think the offense will be even better with a quarter back capable of progressing past his first read and hitting open receivers in space... And more importantly in stride.

You look at FSU's receivers and their ability to gain YAC. if you give Stacey coley a competent qb and another offseason to develop i think he could be even better than them in that department. But when Morris throws every ball as hard as he can into the dirt or too high it's difficult to break a big gain. Miami offenses have always been explosive. If we have a smart QB that can hit the open man in stride and let him make a play we'll get more consistency out of the O. Right now it's big play or bust because Morris can't complete intermediate (and most of the time short) throws with any consistency.

I agree with you here. I'm not in favor of Williams winning the QB battle, not another one and done. We need one of the young guns to win the job outright and have them for a few years.

This is why I am not worried about Williams. The knock on him seems to be that he doesn't have nearly the cannon that Morris has, but I'm not sure I can remember Morris being asked to make and NFL throw this season (i.e., a throw that Williams might not be able to make).

For those down on Coley and our team today (for example the thread saying they gave us the game), think about how many points we left out there even on completions, that, had they been in stride, would have gone for big plays or touchdowns. If anything, Morris let them hang in the game. I can remember two to Hurns where he had his man beat deep and Morris's "nfl" arm left an easy throw short. There were also a number of passes on slants, etc... where the ball location was bad and resulted in a minimal gain.

And before anyone can say it, I don't think the one throw by Williams was representative of his abilities.

And there's nowhere to go but up in the third down conversion department.

Come on bro he got one freaking pass attempt. He certainly looked more poised against the same garbage teams that SM look flustered against. I think he is an upgrade compared to SM. I for one will not miss Stephen at all.
