Next year qb

great question...

Emory will have two years of experience in the system with a couple quality starts and some success. []__[] have a lot invested with him & vice versa.

IMO it would be hard for anyone without a demonstrably superior skillset to transfer in and beat him for the job, but if a guy does then Miami is all the better for it.
Actually thinking this, and then transferring it to a keyboard and still hitting send is crazy.

Nothing against OP, but I just can't wrap my head around this nonsense.

There isn't a single fact that supports the Emory is elite narrative. Not his high school film. Not last year's film. Nothing.

Just because the coaches like him and think he's great for the culture and room, does not mean he's a great player.

I would be thrilled if Emory was as good as half this board has been gaslighted into believing he is. But I have to see it to believe it.

I have faith Mario has recruited competent quarterbacks over the years who can be worthy of the U in their helmet.

Some folks still dont understand how good Emory Williams is. He's the starter.

The only thing Emory lacks is star power to attract elite WR prospects. But that will all change after Emory completes his first season as a starter.
If You Say So Wow GIF by Identity

If he’s the starter, get ready to learn pop tart bowl in 2025.

I will say, I know we've only been talking about how well a QB can throw, or run, or read defense etc.

Additionally, next years QB needs to be the leader of this team. Cam is undoubtedly the team of this entire team. And once he's gone, there ain't another leader. Plain & simple.

I have no doubt that we can find a capable replacement quarterback. I also have no doubt that whoever it is will be a step back from Cam who is truly a generational type of player. We haven’t had a guy who can carry the team like Cam maybe ever.
Unless Mateer and becomes the second coming of a Joe Barrow transfer

Let's not forget, a mere 11 months ago, half this board said they didn't want a turnover machine gimmick quarterback from a ****** conference who couldn't even win 7 games named Cameron Ward.
I don't believe you. An extremely small minority perhaps. Cam support was overwhelming.

Ppl poo pooing CJ Bailey but asking for Air Nolan who hasn’t taken a snap. Not saying I want either

Ppl always clamoring for DJ Lagway who Bailey has better numbers than. Again not saying I want either.

Just seems like ppl have their preference and will ignore other things just because

Watching his highlights feels literally the exact same as watching Cam’s highlights last year, except when he starts running it’s downhill and not to buy time in the pocket
I really hope it’s him or ZONA QB if he’s decent this year

I think Emory needs competition with someone out of the portal. Let the best man win.

I’m definitely high on Emory, but definitely don’t just want to hand him the keys either

Championship teams are built by recruiting. We plugged Cam in because of a gap. Our tank is filling up with Emory, Judd, Luke and Poff. You have to give them a chance. If you go after a new QB in the portal every year you may never sign another decent QB in recruiting.

Just get Mateer here. Don't overthink it. Keep the party going and keep winning games. Show back to back years of success and Mario can fully kill that QB killer narrative as well.

I suppose I’m also going by the other 100 threads over the last few months where Bailey was never mentioned and Mateer was mentioned all the time

Whatever it is, it’s gonna be a big step down from Cam but I think the majority of the board wants Mateer

I like Sorsby from Cincy personally

Good one, this is the Indiana QB that transferred to Cincy. We need to start mentioning other names so when this board doesn't get Mateer it doesn't mean its the end of the world

Crazy to also think how expensive QB's can be. Rumor is that Bryce Underwood has been offered over $10.5 million over 4 years by Meeshigan.
