It's okay to be a little excited about Bailey imo.

1794, 12/5 so far, on a team that has underachieved based on preseason expectations. However the offense has been better with him in there.

Would I take him over Mateer? No. I could name like 3-5 other QBs that would get me more excited than Bailey. However, he has played good for a true freshman.

If you like Bailey you’re basically telling all of us that he’s better than Cam Ward will ever be

That's a fair assessment, however Emory also didn't hurt us while he was heading up the offense.

Idk why y’all have fallen in love with Mateer. It can’t be the way he plays. He’s inconsistent and inaccurate. Every decent defense he’s faced, he’s hovered around 50% comp. He needs to get way better to be effective here.

If Dawson leaves, I’d say hire Mullen and bring the kid in. If Dawson stays, he shouldn’t be the top guy on the board.

Pretty **** good stats at this point compared to Cam last year.

Some folks still dont understand how good Emory Williams is. He's the starter.

The only thing Emory lacks is star power to attract elite WR prospects. But that will all change after Emory completes his first season as a starter.

I have no doubt that we can find a capable replacement quarterback. I also have no doubt that whoever it is will be a step back from Cam who is truly a generational type of player. We haven’t had a guy who can carry the team like Cam maybe ever.

I'm not saying Bailey is the answer...just taking a step back and looking at it if I were evaluating him.

Hes a true freshman playing on a bad team. Now you give him a full off season, he adds a bit more strength and you put a legit OL and more weapons around him. Maybe the step he takes is fairly significant. The one question mark is how is he on non gamedays. I mean Cam has played so much college football and is apparently a film junky. He has seen it all. Does one season for Bailey in game and 1 off season of absorbing all the knowledge he can off the field and 2 years make him a good option.

Or maybe what you see this year is who he is...thats the big question.

Mateer isnt Cam passing...but very good. But he is a big kid who isnt afraid to take off and get an easy 5-10 yard if you give it to him.

Agreed. Theres a micro/macro thing going on with Mario and the offense

On one hand we need to keep getting better skill position guys in here and there’s some questions

But macro level he made the move to Dawson and landed Cam. Whether Dawson is Joe Gibbs or not isn’t really relevant there it’s more the willingness to adapt

We're paying Cam $2M. We can afford almost anyone we want that ends up in the portal.

Probably a bit early to consider all the guys who will be on the move. Lots of unhappy QBs sitting behind starters. Think Air Noland from OSU. Also want to see how the Florida/Napier situation develops in terms of Lagway. Both of those options seem better than what we currently have on the roster for next year.
