Why shouldn't it be? He was made a priority as the season progressed. He's a 3-star Florida kid committed to Mississippi State, not a 4-5 star kid committed to UGA, Bama, FSU, UF or others where big bags are involved. He seemed interested. We need DB depth because our numbers are thin. His tape shows a kid who would fit nicely in our system. Yet we can't pull him away? I can see why some would be frustrated or at least puzzled by it.
Miss State has Terrell Buckley who was an All American in college and a very good pro player and he's put guys in the league. We have a former bartender lol
Defensive secondary crootin has been apocryphal since Banda and Rumph arrived at Miami, Emerson is just the latest example...
They are losing guys to Cuse and Cowtown state, its not acceptable under any circumstances if Miami is to be great...
The staff's been recruiting Emerson since September. This is while we were recruiting Nunn and Stevenson. The SEC schtick works with LSU, Bama, Auburn, and UGA. Miss State is not in that same tier, not even close. That's the point of this thread (at least a majority of people), is that this is another swing and a miss in the secondary. And in terms of the reasons why he wants to stay at Miss State, that's your job as a recruiter - to get them on campus. There's guys that want to play immediately at Alabama, even though they have 4/5 star players in the 2-deep, yet Bama still gets them to come on campus; despite the early PT. Same with UGA. Same with most power 5 schools, because you recruit and get them to sign, not make excuses.
Yeah not like Banda is putting guys in the league, good call
Y’all are talking about firing Banda over Emerson? Lol cmon at least give a better reason than Emerson as being the tipping point...
Wait you somehow think MSU is clean?
They might run the dirtiest program in the SEC
It's not just Emerson. He also missed TS, Jobe, Edwards and many others. Both he and Rumph have gotten their *** handed to them on the trail. Losing a Florida kid to Miss State is unacceptable.
Every coach misses on kids, even at Bama. And Edwards is straight trash, weird to include him. Let's look at how he's actually recruited:
2016 - Finley, Colbert
2017 - Carter, Smith
2018 - Hall, also was the lead on Frierson
2019 - Bolden, Smith
That is far from the disaster you claimed. and if it were up to Banda, Nunn would be a Cane too. That was all Richt ******** it up.
And jesus dude Emerson is from Pensacola. Miss St is half the distance Miami is
For all your complaining, maybe try checking recruiting rankings.
Miss St has recruited very well the past few years. They are a SEC team and that's a big deal to a lot of kids
We counting transfers? Dude is an overrated recruiter by Miami fans. Frierson is a Cane legacy and Banda **** near lost him. Sending out a bunch of tweets doesn't make you a strong recruiter. Everyone misses, yes, but dude has missed his top guy every cycle.
Y’all are talking about firing Banda over Emerson? Lol cmon at least give a better reason than Emerson as being the tipping point...
They don’t realize you have to recruit transfers too..funniest part is if a kid like bolden made it known he had interest in Miami as a transfer, and we pursued but at the end chose to go else where, they’d add as a negative against Banda. But when he lands him, no creditWtf is wrong with half this board?
Of course transfers "count". Why wouldnt they. You'd be loving Banda if TS committed, yet he lands Bolden and somehow gets no credit, no other fanbase has people who think like this.
And I love how holding off UGA and their bags is somehow "almost lost". Ridiculous
over the last 3 cycles, if you look at the top 10 defensive players JUST FROM the tri county area
2019 Miami went 2/10(#7Smith/#9Huff)
2018 Miami went 4/10(#3Nesta,#5Blades,#7Hall,#8Frierson)
2017 Miami went 4/10(#6Bandy,#7Garvin,#9Ford,#10Carter)
10/30 30% only ONE in the top 5 of his class(Nesta). that is just not good enough.
