Keontra Smith and Bubba Bolden is a pretty good haul at Safety. It's strange how CIS mopes think transfers somehow dont count.

Emerson would have been nice but 75% of you were bashing him as a prospect in the other thread. Now we dont land him and its whining and back to fire everyone.

Meanwhile, we'll land Hunte and Washington plus more transfers and barely anyone will comment

Why shouldn't it be? He was made a priority as the season progressed. He's a 3-star Florida kid committed to Mississippi State, not a 4-5 star kid committed to UGA, Bama, FSU, UF or others where big bags are involved. He seemed interested. We need DB depth because our numbers are thin. His tape shows a kid who would fit nicely in our system. Yet we can't pull him away? I can see why some would be frustrated or at least puzzled by it.

Wait you somehow think MSU is clean?

They might run the dirtiest program in the SEC

Y’all are talking about firing Banda over Emerson? Lol cmon at least give a better reason than Emerson as being the tipping point...

Defensive secondary crootin has been apocryphal since Banda and Rumph arrived at Miami, Emerson is just the latest example...

They are losing guys to Cuse and Cowtown state, its not acceptable under any circumstances if Miami is to be great...

We'll have 5 4* CBs and 3 4* safeties (plus Amari, Finley, and D Smith) next year.

For all the meltdowns, we have plenty of talent in the secondary, all rought in by Rumph/Banda

The staff's been recruiting Emerson since September. This is while we were recruiting Nunn and Stevenson. The SEC schtick works with LSU, Bama, Auburn, and UGA. Miss State is not in that same tier, not even close. That's the point of this thread (at least a majority of people), is that this is another swing and a miss in the secondary. And in terms of the reasons why he wants to stay at Miss State, that's your job as a recruiter - to get them on campus. There's guys that want to play immediately at Alabama, even though they have 4/5 star players in the 2-deep, yet Bama still gets them to come on campus; despite the early PT. Same with UGA. Same with most power 5 schools, because you recruit and get them to sign, not make excuses.

For all your complaining, maybe try checking recruiting rankings.

Miss St has recruited very well the past few years. They are a SEC team and that's a big deal to a lot of kids

Yeah not like Banda is putting guys in the league, good call

Doubt this kid even knows who Banda put in the league and he has no background to back it up. We have people on here who say Ed Reed should be DB coach because he would command respect for these kids but you don't think a who was an All-american and very good pro holds more weight than a former bartender?

Didn't say they were clean. But they are FAR from the dirtiest in the SEC. They have only been inside the top 20 in recruiting once in the last 10 years. If they were so dirty, they would at least have a few more classes in the teens. They are usually mid to late 20's.

It's not just Emerson. He also missed TS, Jobe, Edwards and many others. Both he and Rumph have gotten their *** handed to them on the trail. Losing a Florida kid to Miss State is unacceptable.

Every coach misses on kids, even at Bama. And Edwards is straight trash, weird to include him. Let's look at how he's actually recruited:

2016 - Finley, Colbert
2017 - Carter, Smith
2018 - Hall, also was the lead on Frierson
2019 - Bolden, Smith

That is far from the disaster you claimed. and if it were up to Banda, Nunn would be a Cane too. That was all Richt ******** it up.

And jesus dude Emerson is from Pensacola. Miss St is half the distance Miami is

We counting transfers? Dude is an overrated recruiter by Miami fans. Frierson is a Cane legacy and Banda **** near lost him. Sending out a bunch of tweets doesn't make you a strong recruiter. Everyone misses, yes, but dude has missed his top guy every cycle.

And we've still recruited better than them. It's Mississippi. We have a history of sending players to the league. If you can't outsell Miami to Mississippi to a kid, you got problems - which is the nature of this thread. And yes, Mississippi tends to grab players from their state which is why they're ranked in the top 25 yearly. Doesn't make them better than Miami.

Wtf is wrong with half this board?

Of course transfers "count". Why wouldnt they. You'd be loving Banda if TS committed, yet he lands Bolden and somehow gets no credit, no other fanbase has people who think like this.

And I love how holding off UGA and their bags is somehow "almost lost". Ridiculous

They don’t realize you have to recruit transfers too..funniest part is if a kid like bolden made it known he had interest in Miami as a transfer, and we pursued but at the end chose to go else where, they’d add as a negative against Banda. But when he lands him, no credit

over the last 3 cycles, if you look at the top 10 defensive players JUST FROM the tri county area

2019 Miami went 2/10(#7Smith/#9Huff)
2018 Miami went 4/10(#3Nesta,#5Blades,#7Hall,#8Frierson)
2017 Miami went 4/10(#6Bandy,#7Garvin,#9Ford,#10Carter)

10/30 30% only ONE in the top 3 of his class(Nesta). that is just not good enough.

Agreed, but people on this site will have you believe nothing is wrong or we need a 6th ring before recruits in a 13 mile radius will stay in S. FL. National Championship coaches hit the ground running in their first NSD.
