New SI story coming out with more Shapiro........

Thats why I canceled my SI after them coming out after Miami saying death penalty. **** SI! **** SHapiro!

This coming from the same people that called for Miami to drop football in the 90's. I would expect nothing less from those douche canoes. This story is much ado about nothing & the NCAA already investigated the claims and came up with nothing. **** em!!!! CANES get time served
:stormwarning:

When SI figures out how to top the Cheryl Teigs see-through fishnet bathingsuit from the '70s, they'll be relevant again.

/tastefully done ... but all nude

I've worked as sportsbook supervisor. Inside information is all but meaningless, particularly in football with 22 players on the field. Very few players have any impact on the spread at all. Only a top quarterback, or a freakish player at another position. And the latter is an extreme rarity. Otherwise, you can have all the information you want and it's a collective yawn. Betting odds are based almost exclusively on power ratings with a long term foundation. Those numbers don't change appreciably based on several weeks worth of results, let alone the status of one of two players.

Unfortunately, as I posted many months ago, in this case there's an extreme disconnect between reputation and reality. The NCAA is ignorant on the matter, and so are the vast majority of sports journalists. Seldom legal, sports betting in this country has a vague and mysterious air to it. With so much money involved, there has to be hourly larceny. Readers will lap up the Sports Illustrated garbage. The cynical public wants to believe sportsbooks have inside information, and use it to trap bettors. The inside information is nothing more than those power ratings, and the glacial movement. When a team has an aberrational performance or two, yet the spread doesn't shift appreciably, the public howls after it is suckered the following week, with the outcome returning to the norm. It makes no sense to them. But they can't blame themselves. Chicanery elsewhere is the brainstorm.

It becomes a hilarious revolving door. If the books have inside information, I'll intercept it before they do, and twist the advantage in my favor. Meanwhile, nothing is going on.

I give Shapiro credit. To tear down the Canes, this is easily his best hand. As a failed gambler he knows inside information is ridiculous. To fool the masses, it helps immeasurably when the house of cards is already well off the floor. A con man can't afford to start from scratch, particularly from behind bars.

We will always pay, in the media, for ****ting on everyone else's favorite teams for so long.

Shapiro is completely making up **** left and right. It's obvious at this point. Hope his family dies.

Our COI appearance will now be postponed 7 months so the NCAA can go over this new evidence.

So everyone is quick to jump on this story even though its already been investigated yet the auburn allegations or the North Carolina academic scandal is not even bothered with? How about the fact that a historically bad football program wwas suddenly able to sign a plethora of 5 star players. Or how about players from Clemson and other schools tweeting pics of themselves holding large amounts of money? So none of that is important but a ****** midget convicted con-man and thief is suddenly the epitome of truth

God **** son.

Lock thread.

Anybody know when this is supposed to come out? Better not push back our date with the COI

I still think that this Gambling Stuff ( which IMO is pretty BS) was already taken into consideration and won't effect the timing of our meeting. If you believe the below quote, AND I assure you the NCAA tried to find any crap on us, then it seems like a non-issue.

"According to a third source, the NCAA previously investigated Shapiro's gambling claims but found no concrete evidence and did not make any allegations regarding gambling in Miami's Notice Of Allegations."

So, what is there a second NOA?

Thats my train of thought. I just hate the timing of it. Why would that ********** hold on to more allegations all this time? Hes sitting in jail dreaming up new stuff

As to the timing, I don't see any incentive [for NS] to withholding allegations. After the whole mess this turned into, it seems like just some possible "SCANDAL" that makes this story **** again. I think the people (non-Miami fans) lost interest in this investigation and don't care anymore.

It is possible that NS is a moron or was worried these "betting allegations" would impact his credibility, oh wait he is a known liar-defrauder-scam artist-criminal etc. that has none.

Honestly, the only thing I don't get is why SI is running the story. I thought they turned it down along with ESPN in the beginning.

Possibly, but if it isn't in the COI can the NCAA bring it up. It seems that they should have gave us time in the NOA to respond to such an allegation.

Exactly. I dont want them to push this back even further. Miss St already has their sanctions and ours has taken well over a year longer than theirs. Lets put this ******* thing behind us

What do we have, 3 days till the hearing? Let's hope we catch a break and this is all done soon.

SI? Isn't that the **** rag that trys to publish naked women with swimgsuits on? What does What does bambling have to do with naked women? Isn't that drinking?

If Shapiro had any damning information he would have already shared all of it.

He's grasping now because he knows this story is falling apart and Miami isn't going to get wiped out like he wanted.

He's a desperate man.

At this point I think he's desperate just to stay in the news, as opposed to being desperate to destroy UM. All this came about from his desire to be some important BMOC, and once this case is done he'll just be rotting in a jail cell with no one to pay attention to him.
