New S&C coach added to staff?

I ask this out of ignorance…Has Swasey ever been recognized, on a national level, in the field of strength and conditioning? How is he thought of among the trade, his peers, etc? How many schools have come after him for jobs? Has he published anything or been a thought leader?

Credentials- sociology degree from Baylor...

Has no business overseeing the FB team
And what degree do you have? How would you know anything about strength and conditioning and what Swasey does or does not know about it? For Christ's sake, we have pro bowl athletes that come to train with him.

Degree in Science. Played FB and ran track in college D1aa.

Look at our players.. That is all you need to see.

Players come back in the offseason bc it's MIAMI!!!

Players come back because Swasey is renowned in his field. It's not that hard mope.

Speed and agility- he is solid

Strength size and power- not good.

When Moffit was here, Swasey on headed the conditioning aspect. He was promoted when Moffit left. Coker didn't have a clue of Swaseys short comings and neither did Shannon. Hopefully AG can get a solid SC coach.

Not moping, just want thoughts or an honest answer. To add on to what CyberCane said, how many of our coaches have been talked of, praised, offered other jobs?

It just seems to me like most of our coaches are not at the top of their respected positions with the exception of Paul Williams, and that's being generous. While some do have impressive track records, Jethro and Kehoe, none of that has translated to the field. The only good-to-great coach that has been at the U recently has been Jedd Fisch and left when more $ was offered.

Golden was offered the head coaching jobs at Tennessee and UCLA. He might have been offered Penn State too, we don't know.

I think James Coley was offered the FIU job and even D'Onofrio was offered the Temple job before he took the D Coordinator job here (wish he would have taken it)

Stoutland and Cristobal were obviously offered jobs at Alabama and made the jump. Terry Richardson made the jump to the NFL, Jedd Fish was offered the Jags job and took it. And our receivers coach who went to Syracuse, whose name escapes me right now.

Jethro ?!? Lol his track record is abysmal. Paul Williams hasnt shown anything and so have several others.

Terry Richardson and McDonald were very good coaches. Good coaches get hired. We have a few that are lacking.

Brad is a top notch SC. He was here under Ericson. Brad left for the NFL when the Bucs strength coach was killed in a car accident. I did some nutrition studies with Brad and the UM team in 93'. I also visited with him when he took the Bucs job. At the time the Bucs weight room consisted of Hammer Strength machines. He took them all out and brought in barbells and Olympic bumper plates. Brad is hard as nails and the results will be seen right away. There will be a conflict between his methods and Swaseys methods.

All the mopes should list all the top S&C trainers in the country and list their college majors. You might be surprised that most of them didn't major in gym class. They learned their craft and apprenticed under other great trainers. Swasey worked with the great Tommy Moffitt. Pretty sure he picked things up from him.

I doubt all those NFL guys are coming to UM to train with him because he's incompetent.

Another delusional poster.

Swasey worked with Moffit for maybe a year. That is not enough time.

Most SC coaches have multiple degrees and a main exercise science degree.

Again, players don't come back to train with Swasey. They come back for south beach. Swasey is incompetent. Results show during the season

I don't think you know what's going around here in regards to the influx of "positive vibes".

It'd be best if you stepped to the side for a couple of days champ; I wouldn't want you to have a nervous breakdown.

Instead of just making fake claims, please point out all the great S&C guys and give us their college education credentials. Sorry if I'm not just going to take your word for it, Gopher fan.

Payton said Jimmy Graham -- who missed the spring -- had the lowest time on the conditioning test. "I told him to stay in Miami every year."

lol at you not giving Swasey credit for anything.

Not true. I just don't buy this notion that NFL players come back for Swasey. Like I've asked before, I'll ask again…this isn't personal so don'e get emotional, it's business:

"Has Swasey ever been recognized, on a national level, in the field of strength and conditioning? How is he thought of among the trade, his peers, etc? How many schools have come after him for jobs? Has he published anything or been a thought leader?"

Can anyone answer the above with facts?

Well since I know Jimmy Graham personally I am going to say I know he comes back for Swasey. But keep thinking what you want. But it's not the only thing he comes back for.
