Don't be a moron.
Tucker is in College HOF. Andy Gustafson. Gus used to park in my grandfather's garage in downtown Miami. Yes, ran a division on the Air Staff as my last job in 2007.I remember when we used to play Navy regularly and they beat us regularly. Last game I remember was around 1970 and they beat us.
They were especially good during the Joe Bellino-Roger Staubach era. They were usually as good as or better than we were.
My father told me, years ago, about how he would take the train from NY to Philadelphia to see the Army-Navy game. He had no connection to either school, although he might have been an enlisted man in the Army during WWII and I know that often those who served in one of the branches also supported the sports teams for that branch's academy. My father probably took that trip sometime in the 1940's. Also, sometime in the '40's, my father attended UM and wrote for the student newspaper.
The service academy teams were national powers back then.
Here's a trivia question: In the 1940's, one of the outstanding college QBs played at both Army and UM. Who was it?
Arnold Tucker. Was Assistant AD in 70s. Good friend of my father. Retired Colonel. Irony is he commanded my flying squadron, 16th Special Operations Squadron, in Vietnam. Great guy. I think he is still alive.
Right. I believe he is in college football HOF. Was he assistant AD at West Point or UM?
You know which Army assistant, who coached Tucker (and the legendary Glen Davis and Doc Blanchard), later ended up at UM?
Easy question.
Did you work at the Pentagon? Had a good friend who was in the Naval Reserve who did reserve duty at the Pentagon for years. He was president of the UM alumni group in D.C. in the '80's. He died a few years ago.
Good answers. Another UM trivia, another easy one. Wisconsin QB family connection to UM. Bet a lot of younger fans don't know. Almost a legacy. What is it? You know, for sure.

John Hornibrook (I think Tom "Silky" Sullivan and Chuck Foreman were in that same backfield) of florida flop fame; don't know the exact relationship between them

Alex's great uncle is John. It was John was scored on the flop play. Tommy Smith played full back. Drafted by the Dolphins in 73.
