New depth chart

Best thing about the freshman who are playing is that they are given certain roles that they can handle. They aren't playing 60 snaps a game ( which they probably aren't physically ready for) like many were last year. This thing is coming together very nicely for Golden

Agreed.

I think this is what a lot of people are missing. Guys are being brought along, not just instantly replacing this player or that player. Shared duties, keeping guys fresh, utilizing depth.

Seems like Duke is out as a KR.

Needs to be Coley and Burns.

I hope so. Duke returning kicks is just too risky.

I thought it read like Coley or Dosett is competing for one spot w/ Duke Johnson at KR..... I dont think its risky at all to have him at KR honestly.

Ppl keep saying he gets banged up too much but when has he not been able to play? no other team besides maybe FSU is going to be as physical as Florida.

Armrbrister lost a year of his life again. Vacillating between sophomore and junior every other week, ****in lulz. Perhaps they should figure that out.

In no case could Armbrister be a pure sophomore. Since he is a member of Coach Golden's first recruiting class, he would either be a junior or a redshirt sophomore. So listing him as "sophomore" is in error in any case.

Actually looking at this depth chart again, I think Duke is getting phased out of kick return.

Dorsett is still top two at PR and KR. Duke is now number 3 at KR though.
ding, ding..... winner

That is not the way I read it. If Duke was being phased out it would read Coley or Duke, not Coley or Dorsett.

It still ****es me off that Dorsett pranced down the field on the opening kickoff instead of turning around and blocking the guy that horse collared Duke. That was a dangerous play that could have gotten Duke seriously hurt. Should have been a penalty by the way.
It's the depth chart for one particular position, that being that names at the top are higher than names at the bottom. Notice how each WR/CB has their own 'depth chart'. The guys at the top take priority for the snaps. For example, in one of the WR positions, it says:

Philip Dorsett -OR-
Herb Waters
Malcolm Lewis

It means Dorsett and Waters are co-starters for the position and Lewis is backing both of them up. You know that's the case because Lewis's name is lower on the depth chart.

Notice the same thing is true for the KR position,

Philip Dorsett -OR-
Stacy Coley
Duke Johnson

Dorsett and Coley are co-starters for the position and Duke is lower on the depth chart. This suggests that Duke is being phased out of kick returns, not Dorsett. That's fine by me, because Duke is much too valuable to risk back there returning kicks, especially when Coley can be just as good or better.

To see Tyriq McCord last year try and stand up against the run was painful. First of all, the guy in all fairness should've been redshirted and allowed to hit the weight room. Kid tried like **** but it wasn't fair. As a sophomore, he has a specific role( edge guy) and is flourishing and now AQM is allowed to play that role on the opposite end. He's a great young talent, but he's not ready to be a down-to-down Dlineman but he can pin his ears back and get upfield in pass-rush situations. He'll eventually be a 3-down lineman, but for now, this is perfect for him

But yeah, last year was all about Coach D's 'skeem'!!!

Of course i could be wrong but i'm not sure the "-OR-" means the same thing on KR as it does for Offense/Defense.

The reason why i say that is b/c the Y receiver position that has Doresett, Waters, and Lewis on it can only have 1 person on the field at a time.

The KR position has 2 possible returners, so it makes no sense for there to be an "-OR-" on it to mean co-starter b/c 2 starters are going to have a shot at fielding the kick off anyway....

thats why i think Dorsett and Coley are competing for 1 KR job along side Duke Johnson, b/c if that wasnt the case then it would just have Dorsett and Coley listed ahead of Duke Johnson w/o the "-OR-"

Alex Gall played 50 snaps as per Coach Golden on the Joe Rose show. Yikes!!!

How does Figs jump Armbrister? I've seen Figs make some good plays, but Armbrister has definitely stood out more to me and was the starter before..

Armbrister played great against UF I thought...couple TFL (or at the line of scrimmage), fumble recovery, etc..

I think its a much better situation at KR w/ Stacy Coley and Duke Johnson returning kick offs instead of Dorsett and Johnson.

i dont want to have 2 freshmen starting right now on KR, Duke Johnson should get less carries (well thats what i would like) but its a great plan to make up for that w/ additional touches on STs.

The S&C development this year has been astounding.
