Nate Dortch has left Team

The timing of this sucks, because wont have as many of these guys playing on Special teams who have experience. Gonna put pressure on us to get a few guys in this class and next year too.

thats a good point. we are losing bodies for special teams. Hope and Dortch def could have been used there.

While that's true, I think the positive of freeing up limited scholarships outweighs the special teams loss.
I agree. Alabama have studs all the time play special teams. So if you e get some studs too we can plug them there

I think this means that guys like Owens, Young, Hester, Gayot, Mayes, D-Jack, etc...will end up playing some Special Teams earlier than expected. Works by me.

I really thought Dortch could turn into a player. Good luck at your next stop.

The "John Square" of DBs. Had all the tools you want in a DB...God just didnt see fit for him to ever gain any weight. Then he was constantly injured. Then Corn Elder came and it was game over. Wish the kid all the best. Looks like Vernon Davis ended up making a smart decision by getting the **** out early.

Hope
Davis
Dortch

All 3 mid to low level 3 star kids that probably never should of been at Miami. They were takes because we missed elsewhere. Wish them all the best

Get this roster to 78 by any means necessary!!!!!

If a kid has been on the roster for 3 years and has yet to crack the 2 deep something is seriously wrong. Also 15 & 16 is way too loaded to have to pass on kids because of lack of room. Getting down to 78 means in 15 and 16 we can have 84 on scholarship.

I think we can all agree the kid had the talent just his body could not develop into a high D-1 level player. Was constantly getting hurt. When he was on Kickoff he always went full steam and was around the ball staying in his lane.... shame he couldnt stay healthy and contribute but alot of respect for the work he put in at UM

Dortch had rediculous reach with those arms, just never translated on the field.

Crow must really love it at UM because the fat man is playing him like Henry Steele. Fat man is going to try to break him.

Ok, Gray. On this play, your job is to block Denzell Perryman. When you hear him coming just curl up.

Gray is short (I don't care what he's listed at), weak, show, and averse to contact. Sounds like a great H-back.

It's very important to keep bringing in guys and keeping them around for a few years and then running them off. Need to keep as many spots as possible for untested freshmen that you will run off in a couple years.

You guys lauding all this attrition crack me up because you'll be the first ones claiming we are too young to expect to win.

Franchise I agree with your premise. Coaches need to do a better job of evaluating. But all high school prospects are just prospects and a number turn out to be busts. It is a good thing to get rid of the dead weight, just need less dead weight in the future.

More Golden camp guys flaming out?

Nate Dortch was originally a UNC commit under Butch Davis.....lots of posters really liked it when he signed. He wasn't a "Golden Camp Guy"

I might've been one of those guys but I've learned to stop doing that.

Just because one staff likes a player who are historically good at developing under the radar types, doesn't mean our staff will develop that player the same way. Coaching and scheme has everything to do with how a player develops and ours doesn't have a track record like a Butch Davis, or whoever develops Wisconsin OL.

There are plenty of capable players available for special teams.
