My Rashada and Gator info

I find it hilarious that the Gators are acting like they are now glad he chose Miami. They don’t want him. They aren’t going to buy players. But then a minute later they are complaining that they need to get their act together in order to compete with the other top SEC schools.

Nowhere close
Cribby, as I understand the NIL deals ... the big ones like the Tennessee $8 million dollar "agreement" .... it isn't a guaranteed $2.0 million per year for 4 years, there is a guaranteed base, like $350K, then a BROAD series of performance goals that, if met, have the POTENTIAL of being worth $8.0 million dollars over a 4 year period. Performance criteria could be winning the conference, winning the Heisman, participating in the national championship, winning the Naty. Same attorney represented Rashada, so it is most likely that whatever his "max deal" is, it is all performance driven with a minimal (in relative terms) guaranteed annual payout.

Those of you saying the NCAA is powerless, or there's nothing to even remotely be concerned about, or that nobody cares about possible investigations, etc. must be under 25 or 30 years old. There's just no way you're saying these things if you understood the true hatred that everyone else in the country has for this program. It's the main reason I've been saying since DAY 1 that Ruiz, and everyone else involved with Miami, needs to shut the fvck up. Where is the FIRST PLACE the NCAA came to "talk" about NIL? Of course it was.

You guys really don't get that the entire country has it out for us. They always have and they always will. This isn't some made-up bull**** in a conspiracy theorist's head. This is real chit. Just look how long the Nico stuff took to come out. He flirted with UT, then committed, and there were rumors of a QB getting paid big money for NIL. Then it started to float towards Nico. Then it was rumored UT's NIL collective is paying him. Then dollar amounts started to come out. This stuff leaked slowly. When Miami is involved? Dude commits at 4:00pm. By 8:00, there are viral tweets and articles with exact dollar amounts, "sources", dumbass lawyers saying things like he took less money to come to Miami, the gator collective putting out statements, bleacher report, ESPN, national media members who don't even report on college football comparing these ridiculous dollar amounts to NFL QB contracts, etc. etc. etc. ******* IMMEDIATELY. The **** ink on the dude's edit didn't even dry before everybody has something to say about Miami.

It has always been this way. Essentially since we walked off that plane in Arizona in the fatigues. And guess what? It ALWAYS will be. It's the main reason that I fell in love with this program. Because everybody hates us. We will always be Thug U. As absolutely ridiculous as that is, as good as our kids are and have been for years and years and years....the blatant racism and envy will always cause people to put us under a microscope.

So those of you who could care less about this stuff, I applaud you. And I sure as **** hope you're right. But I just don't see any reason why we would continue to broadcast our business to the entire world who literally would love nothing more than to see us crumble.

Isn't pay for play against the rules?

If Rashada has not signed a contract or document with the University, Ruiz or anyone who is offering him a NIL deal to receive a NIL deal from the moment he enrolls, there is no recruiting violation present.

A) its not illegal at visits to talk about NIL and figures and B) even if it would be, there is no way to prove whether these talks actually happened.
It’s really hard for those morons to understand that Ruiz isn’t going to put in a contract all this stipulates on playing at Miami. Up to this point I’m not sure of too many companies who are actually paying for the athletes likeness. Those mouth breathers actually think paying a monthly subscription to an organization affiliated with the school to pay players is legal. Ruiz has to know he’s clear after meeting with the NCAA. Why else would Mario & Co. let him anywhere near the program if he wasn’t?

No need to worry.

For comparison's sake, here are a few points from Stewart Mandel's initial report of the $8M QB NIL deal (alleged to be Nico, but never confirmed):
- The player signed over all of their exclusive NIL rights to the collective. The collective pays the player a fixed, pre-determined amount for these rights. The collective can then resell those rights to other businesses to recoup their "investment"
- The contract stated they must enroll as a student in an NCAA remember institution. Doesn't specify which school to get around the "inducement" rule. Technically, the player can go to a different school and the collective would still be required to pay the player.
- The player was based in CA so they were able to get paid immediately (prior to enrollment) because CA law allows high-school players to sell their NIL rights.

You can safely assume Jaden's deal is similarly worded. During the Wong NIL saga, Ruiz stated that he adds a clause that requires the player to be present at LW offices regularly to perform work as needed (filming commercials, meetings, etc). They do not need to be enrolled at UM, but they need to present in the city of Miami regularly to perform the work.

You can be assured Jaden's deal is above board. If the NCAA comes after this deal, they would also have to go after Nico's and many other deals negotiated by Michael Caspino.

I think it’s more that these are legal documents that aren’t violating any laws or guidelines. While yes I agree the NCAA and the majority of CFB fans loathe Miami, the NCAA org cannot fight a legal contract signed with LifeWallet. Until the NCAA can prove that Ruiz was used to coerce players into signing with Miami, they are powerless. They’ll try but it won’t go anywhere.

I think that @TheOriginalCane has already stated this, but: If the player resides in California, which NIL rules become active here? Florida's or Californias?

Isn't pay for play against the rules?
The whole thing is tricky for sure. Players paid for NIL and their NIL is calculated to be more valuable the more successful they are. Guess that's the "formula". Guy who has great stats, wins his conference, is invited to NY for the ceremony, has a significantly higher social media value.

California, until the player moves to and resides in Florida.

EDIT:
To add to the above... remember the Quinn Evers saga? The reason he enrolled early at Ohio State was that Texas NIL laws didn't allow high-school players to sell their NIL rights.

If you’ve followed my info during the Rashada recruitment the last couple months you know my story remained the same. Here’s a quick list.

1. UF was a legit threat , even though nobody mentioned them.

2. They were always the highest offer, we just needed to get in the ball park.

3. At one point most had them as the leader , myself included.

4. Miami is where he wanted to be and it was obvious by his actions as negotiations got late in the process

5. Miami played his recruitment perfectly

6. He was picking UM

7. UF put in a later offer to outbid themselves and was still told no.

8. UF fans and their insiders reports on our offer was ridiculous

9. After he committed I posted ”UF and their Nil collective was a mess, total amateur hour“.

I posted all of this to line it up with Rashadas representation Michael Cassini and his take on their dealings with UF.

@Cribby

But I was told that since the Rashadas didn't bring their NIL Lawyer that we had no chance. 🤷‍♂️

This weirdo is UiF's knight in shining armor? Their big baller? Their "mega-donor"? This dude looks like Bill Maher and Andrew Dice Clay had a kid. A guy whose biggest claim to fame in their little hilljack world is selling his company for $500 mil and once making a broad donation of a whole $12 mil to the school?

Surrre, it's more money than most of us will see or give but this ain't a "whale" in the new world (or the old world) of boosters and NIL.

Almost like us not having him travel to Miami is cover against the NCAA. “We never met the guy, but I believe he went to UF to negotiate with them.” What a twist of irony that would be after they said we had no chance because he didn’t visit Miami.
