Why are all the salty fans claiming this is an NCAA violation?

Nowhere close
I figured it wasn’t, approaching lower end first round draft pick totals for a hypothetical starter 2-3 years from now is hilarious. I don’t think Ruiz would have committed so much resource to that. Him or any one else for that matter.

I’m sure it’ll total in the millions when it all comes out in the wash but I’d guess it’s a fraction of what’s been reported.

If you’ve followed my info during the Rashada recruitment the last couple months you know my story remained the same. Here’s a quick list.

1. UF was a legit threat , even though nobody mentioned them.

2. They were always the highest offer, we just needed to get in the ball park.

3. At one point most had them as the leader , myself included.

4. Miami is where he wanted to be and it was obvious by his actions as negotiations got late in the process

5. Miami played his recruitment perfectly

6. He was picking UM

7. UF put in a later offer to outbid themselves and was still told no.

8. UF fans and their insiders reports on our offer was ridiculous

9. After he committed I posted ”UF and their Nil collective was a mess, total amateur hour“.

I posted all of this to line it up with Rashadas representation Michael Cassini and his take on their dealings with UF.

This is an unbelievably destructive quote for the UF football program. Agents talk. This won’t be limited to one agent.

You guys need to stop worrying about NIL and start enjoying how well UM played this entire process. We got a commitment from one of the best QB’s and he is receiving less money than had he gone to UF. This is amazing in so many ways and for so many reasons. It is beautiful.

BTW if Rashadas deal is $5m - that happens to be $1.25M/yr, which is exactly what I said a reasonable deal would be for a QB at 25% of a $5m yearly Bag budget... This further makes me believe our budget is around $4-5M.
I agree it’s somewhere around that number with $1.25M/yr being the high point but I would put our budget higher than that. Ruiz himself has said he’s budgeted $10M a year for NIL and would go up if need be. As others have said he’s not the only game in town.

This. Who cares about NIL. We won a recruiting battle. That's all that needs to be said. NIL isn't going anywhere and is just a part of recruiting now.

Edit: "allegedly"

I’m loving that Miami is nailing this nil stuff but I have to say…. I’m nervous as ****. We could operate identically to say A&M, Alabama, and Georgia but we will get nailed if possible by the ncaa.

If Rashada has not signed a contract or document with the University, Ruiz or anyone who is offering him a NIL deal to receive a NIL deal from the moment he enrolls, there is no recruiting violation present.

A) its not illegal at visits to talk about NIL and figures and B) even if it would be, there is no way to prove whether these talks actually happened.
