Move DJ Dallas to Corner

They better figure out something cause Cutcliffe will complete 50 passes right in front of him and I don't think Duke will beat themselves.

Manny is caught in a catch 22 with this clown in there. He blitzes to get pressure and they don't get there they complete easy passes in front of him but if they don't put pressure they complete longer passes in front AND in back of him.

The guy is one HUUUUUGE liability and needs to be benched for Bandy or Young.

Having lots of weapons doesn't do any good if your not using them . Deejay needs to be moved to db. Delaney and Johnson shouldn't be starting

100% agree

I think it's too early to call Delaney a bust. Kid showed some great film, was an FCS AA, and coaches glowed about him in camp. Playing against the #1 receiver, so if anything you just move him down to #2 not pull him. Scheme has really hurt him, as well. So IMHO, he's earned a little patience.

On the other hand, I entirely agree with moving Deejay to DB. We all expected that to be his natural position both in college and the NFL. No doubt he can help us at WR. But at least try him out at DB. It's a win/win for everyone involved if that becomes his money position. Don't waste talent like we did with Sam Shields.

I don't think it would be a big deal to move the guy to cb right now. Wouldn't be the first player to move to a different position during the season to help the teams overall depth at a position.

That would be unfair to him & wouldn't help the Defense any.

He hasn't taken a single snap or rep at CB the entire time he's been here since enrolling early.

Look, I was as critical of Delaney as anyone, but Deejay Dallas isn't the answer at CB.

Either Delaney is just gonna have to be Coached up, or Young, Bandy, Mike Jack & Dean can step up when we need'em to.

But, trying to have a TF just try out a new position as difficult as CB on a whim right as we start our ACC schedule would be downright stupid.

Is Diaz not allowing him to play bump and run coverage because I haven't seen him using his hands through these two games.. all through camp we heard how physical he is at the line of scrimmage what is the deal. I recall hearing he was not good playing off coverage yet and still he's been playing 7 yards off the ball

At this point, Bandy or Young should get their opportunity. Everyone in college football knows Delaney is the target now. Making the change means Bandy/Young will be the new target but they are both more athletic and would rather have those mistakes be learning opportunities as both will be here for multiple years.

At the least, Delaney being bench may light a fire under his ***.

The only guys I like are Young and Bandy....big critic of redwine but I forgive his whole past because he took his helmet off and swagged out so he is forgiven until friday.

Cutcliffe gonna have our *** if Manny bring this weak **** again.

Dukes OL cant block us they will use quick screen and slants, if we play off zone again we deserve to lose. I dont see Duke being able to run consistently, Dee is such a liability I dont know if they even want him to play press it looks like they dont trust him at all and are honoring him coming to miami because the nfl draft. They must of pledged a better draft grade or some ****

Dallas is capable if push comes to shove I mean saban wanted him at that very position and I trust sabans evals who doesnt

Nobody is saying move him to CB on Monday and start him on Friday, but get him in their practice room now.

He'll be able to help us down the line.

so true. there is so much to the position from a mental perspective, that you just can't run out there and play.

delaney needs to get his sh*t together, in a hurry.

I don't know if Dallas is the right guy to move to CB, but I don't see him getting any PT next year at RB except as maybe 4th string (Homer, Lindgard, Davis, Dallas) or possibly 6th string WR. Not trying to be a jerk, but it's unlikely he jumps to the front of the line at either WR or RB. Would be sad if he spent his whole career as a scout team stud. We have holes in the secondary, if he can quickly learn the defense I think he has a much higher chance of establishing himself as the first or second db off the bench.

Disagree. I've said it since he was recruited, Dallas NFL position is CB or S.
He hasn't taken any reps in 9 months at CB, but you think we should just move him to CB in a week & that'll solve everything?

Think about it for second, you would be asking a TF WR to switch to CB with ZERO reps for an entire season to just up & move to a new spot & be more effective than the other CB's we already have... Doesn't make any sense at all.

My wording sucked.

No I don't think it will solve our problems, most of them are on Diaz anyway. I just think DJs best chance position is either CB or S, I say S. Wish they started him there from when he arrived on campus
All good.

I actually agree that he should've been moved to full time RB or DB once he got here, I just think it's a lil late to move him to CB now.

for this season, yes.

but i think they need to take a long hard look, and decide on him at CB for next year. He could be a really good WR, an above average TB, but I think he has All ACC ability at corner. that's just me.

and by the way, am i the only one that thinks Delaney is out of position and should be moved to strong safety?

The thing with Deejay as a DB is, people think he played it a ton in HS when he didn't.

He played some Safety but only in the 2nd half of games when his team had a big lead, otherwise he was primarily a QB.

Delaney is a 4th year Senior with experience & he looks lost out there, **** Mike Jack has been here for years & even he looked confused, had blown coverages & missed assignments.

So to expect Deejay to just switch to CB without having taken a single rep at that spot the entire time he's been at Miami is just putting too much on the kid.

And I actually think Delaney might be better off playing Safety if he continues to struggle, having a different look at the field might help him some, because he looks like he's really struggling with understanding his assignments.

We have two stud rbs coming in next we need cbs now . They need to move him asap

They should explore it i agree with you but i feel like they dont want to bench Delaney and Diaz hasnt helped disguise Dees weaknesses. Im sure DJ would struggle as well because like lib said he hasnt taken a snap there and bethune and ark st would of been the times to test the youngsters like perry and dj. Fuqin irma

THe difference in the line getting sacks is simply our secondary is not that good. We had 4 guys from last years secondary, and opponents receivers were covered most of the time, thus giving our line more time come up with sacks. Naturally, this years poor secondary leaving guys open does not afford the line to get sacks. With Adrian and Corn receivers were not getting opened that often.
