Dont be fooled by these man saying they not gonna complain anymore. And im not talking about the reasonable critiques of the missteps. This will wear off and they will be back just like they forget 2023 like it didnt happen. Like we aint beat Bama, UGA, Ohio etc for players. So enjoy the good vibes. Irrationality will be back, because recruiting is a rollercoaster, ride the highs and withstand the lows
I think most just want a class within striking distance of the top 6-10 which is certainly attainable assuming we land some of the guys we were talking about months ago. As the list dwindled, the noise naturally grew and the pool shrunk (particularly on the D-line). Despite the influx of summer commits both elsewhere and to us, it’s not about having a top tier class right now. It’s about positioning ourselves to vault into that discussion when we have a successful season, where we only need a couple commits or elite flips to get us into that range. Not where we’re scrambling for 6-7 dudes and trying to play catch-up.

A few will never be happy because they enjoy misery (which then has me questioning why they’re even Canes fans if they can’t objectively acknowledge the good), but this wave we’re about to allegedly experience is necessary to stay within that elite conversation; without it, we would have probably stayed in purgatory within that 15-19 range pre-regular season.

Another CIS phenomena is that we are often more excited about the prediction of imminent news concerning new commitments than the actual commitments or players themselves. It’s almost like the commitment announcement itself becomes a “rubber stamp” of what our brains have already recorded.
100% it’s a known human phenomena

“The act of setting a goal releases the neurotransmitter dopamine and motivates you to take productive action. A popular study published in Nature noted that dopamine not only spikes when we set a goal for ourselves but also when we’re close to achieving that goal. The bigger the reward, the more powerful the spike.”

I’d be happy with top 12 and 8-4 assuming our losses weren’t blow outs and we showed good improvement in the red zone, on offense, and fewer blown assignments in the secondary

That would be great imo and set us up for a huge year 3
