Meanwhile Bama will have their first undefeated season in a some years because they have a mobile QB. Funny that whenever the Bama defense faces opponents outside the SEC (without the 12 second offensive snap rule) with mobile QB's those teams typically light up the scoreboard vs them.
BAMA is the only team in recent years to win with a pure pocket passing QB
OP fails to realize that if Louisville had a typical pocket passing QB that they would have already lost more games this year. Lamar Jackson has been making Louisville look a lot better than they actually are.
Amazing that OSU beat Bama and won a national championship with their 3rd string mobile and athletic QB a few years a go.
The game has evolved. DE's run like RB's and WR's now. Mobility at the QB position is increasing in importance as the population increases and more bigger stronger faster athletes get on the field.
I didn't see the OP say the opposite thing last week when Michigan lost.
Let Neanderthals continue to think the way they do I guess.
So many inaccurate comments in one post.
Bama is bama. They have been undefeated with a pretty mediocre pocket passer and if you actually watch their games, their qb isn't asked to do much. His numbers are extremely misleading as many of their long tds come from things like screens and shuttle passes. Not to mention he's behind the most dominant oline in cb. Also you failed to mention that the SEC is about as down as they've ever been.
Saying is Louisville had a packet passer they'd automatically be worse is a pointless statement. The offense would look drastically different based on the different qb skill set. Not to mention pocket passers, like dual threats, have varying levels of talent. This is pure hypothetical nonsensical bs.
OSU beat bama with the least athletic qb on the roster and the one who also makes the best throws from the pocket. Not saying he's a pure pocket passer but is the closest thing to it that was on their roster compared to the other two dual threats. So there goes that argument.
Enough of this weird mindless everyone must have a dual threat qb agenda. It really does nothing to enhance the experience of watching college fb.
And pointing out michigans one loss means nothing. We grade season based off of the complete body of work. Not just knee jerk reactions based off one game. Both Louisville and Michigan will be fine playing ball the way they are.
So many inaccurate comments?
The last time Bama went undefeated was 2009. This is the first season since then that they are likely to go undefeated, due in a huge part to their Mobile QB.
Did you watch the LSU vs Bama game this year? The only TD scored was a long run by their mobile QB. The only facet of a Bama offense that they had not previously added was runs by a mobile QB. They have even ran the read option this year. If you understand offense then you know that having a mobile QB opens up new plays which makes the opponents D prepare for and worry about additional plays. Sometimes they are even forced to designate a spy specifically for the running QB
The Michigan QB was sarcasm due to the OP comments about the mobile QB who lost 1 game?
Louisville is not stacked with tons of talent on offense and Lamar Jackson has had to literally carry them. As was finally displayed yesterday their OL is not very good. A mobile QB often masks that deficiency in an OL. A pure pocket passer (a la Kaaya) would have already gotten killed earlier in the season unless he had a release as quick as Dan Marino's..
OSU beat Bama with their 3rd QB who is indeed mobile and ran the ball vs Bama in that NC game. His mobility kept plays alive and extended plays instead of getting constantly beat up in the pocket. There was called QB runs in the game as well.
Once again, unless a pure pocket passer has a release quick enough to prevent continuously getting hit then the QB needs to have a certain amount of mobility to extend plays because DE's are faster than they used to be. That is the very reason that you see more mobile QB's than ever before starting in he NFL. The Cam Newton's, Russell Wilson's and Dak Prescott's are becoming the norm, while the Tom Brady's are becoming less the norm. Even the Aaron Rogers' and Andrew Luck's are much more mobile than the older school QB's like Brady, Marino, Manning and others.
Do you think that a more mobile QB would make Richt's RPO more effective? Do you think that if a QB could occasionally keep and run the ball when the DE crashes would help? Those QB runs make the handoff to the RB more effective. They freeze the outside LB and make the slant pass easier because the pass doesn't get batted down or the LB doesn't back into the lane. Do you think that adding additional elements to an offense that a mobile QB adds can help open up an entire playbook or make defenders think rather than react?
Maybe you should have a more thorough understanding of what Richt does with his RPO and what makes it more effective before you post.
Perhaps you should review the last time Richt won an SEC championship before he was forced to give up the offense when DJ Shockley was his QB in 2005.

Richt can't do what he wants to do with a pure pocket passer
