I believe it is fair to question the evaluation skills of this staff.

Bandy is a legit, obvious stud. Took far too long.

Harley is a very good fit in our offense. We offered some slugs ahead of him and were way too late.

Slaton took far too long to get prioritized.

RB recruiting right now has been mediocre.

There is a long list. In my mind, these guys need to be identified a year ahead of time and prioritized correctly. Always room for pop-up guys, but the way they'd done it is very confusing to me.

You can't tell most of the fans the truth ^ if it was up to them we wouid still have golden. Butch or kiffen is who we should of got

The same Lane Kiffen that just took the only job in the country he could have gotten? That guy? The HC at FAU? Same guy? You've outdone yourself with this post.

Go Canes!

lmao enjoy the bowl win morons. the defensive staff has a done great job with our players this year. as long as these guys can coach, keep them here.

Wow, I can't stand this place. Two of the ESPN top 8 RB's are likely to be Canes and this is "mediocre".

I don't believe I said anything especially incendiary, but my thought process is I'm not a huge fan of Burns. The right now was an obvious qualifier if we land McFarland, it will be better. I do like him.

As for recruiting rankings, I personally do not look at them. I want to be able to watch a player with as clear a lens as possible.

Finally, my post had nothing to do with anything about the evaluation skills of this staff thus far at Miami. Right now, I think it's fair to ask questions. If saying it's fair to ask questions is incendiary and makes you hate this place, I certainly respect your right to put me on ignore.

Ok, so you view Burns as mediocre and McFarland as not coming. Let's flag this thread for later use.

Obvious issues with reading.

I don't think the staff has evaluation issues (what evidence do you have of that?). I think it's way too early to judge because they have yet to finish recruiting and ultimately coach their first class. It seems they stick to the board and only offer players they've seen play in person, have been on campus, and can honor if they commit. It's a process and a lot of the 'failures' in recruiting people complain about have to do with not winning at a high level for a long time and being the staff's first year in Miami.

You are wrong about prioritizing players a year in advance.. I think you need to start even sooner than that and Richt clearly understands this based on his community-level involvement over the past year. Richt has only been here one year after 15yrs at UGA (where he recruited and "prioritized" well), and this is his first class at Miami; how can you determine that he doesn't prioritize players well?

The RB recruiting is fine. They have great talent committed/interested and Richt has a history of identifying and developing talent in that regard, so who are you to qualify the efforts as mediocre? Surely you have to wait until NSD to see who we get, and then see these young men play in college before you judge their ability or the staff's, no?

Bandy is here after he was vetted by the staff and they felt confident in his ability, Harley isn't necessarily a good fit in Richt's offense (look back at his history), and the slugs you mention are gone. I think you're feeling yourself and jumping the gun big-time with the superficial critiques that shouldn't be made until the players play in college..

I'm interested to hear how those of you that dislike Richt as our coach view this season compared to those of the last decade.

If richt Would open the playbook like he did in second quarter on every game we wouldn't lose many .we played a great 3 quarters maybe this will open his eyes . Pretty sure in the game thread a lot of people called for his head . I honestly don't wish bad on us I just get pist . We need to finish strong recruiting

This is the kind of thread gets started when one's cranium is not filled to capacity.

I agree that he starts us off a little too conservatively on many occasions. Lots of 3 and outs with 3 runs. Hopefully his play calling confidence is increased next year. Donaldson and a still-undecided offensive lineman or 2 could probably give him a little more confidence next season too.

OP finally back posting, after the sting of that disappointing bowl win on Wednesday night has started to wear off.

Not to worry though, he'll find plenty more to bītch and whine about.

Funny, none of those who disagree with me can refute what I said about WR (and DB to a certain degree) recruiting. Will it get better by signing day? Possibly, but as of now it's really really terrible
