Miami vs Duke: Manny Diaz speaks on the game Saturday

The turnover chain was about the most overt subtext between Mario and Manny that there's been:
- Manny: impliments the chain.
- Mario: get's rid of it because, "It's not a part of our culture."
From that Mario might as well have said, Manny doesn't get what it means to be a Hurricane.

Manny lost to FIU, La Tech, Ga Tech, Duke, Florida. Almost lost to Central Michigan all in the same year. Got embarrassed against UNC and Clemson in 2020. Was corny as **** with the stupid td rings, slip n slide, players dancing on the sidelines while losing, and the turnover chain. Then remember against Bama in 2021? Miami was getting destroyed, then the turnover chain came out and the call got reversed. He was a ******* tool.

So yea any other questions or shall I continue?
Facts. Time heals all wounds but Pepperidge Farm remembers. He was a joke and him and Blake James nearly finished off this program with their stupidity.

I can only assume people that say this don’t follow recruiting super closely

To say he was still out there recruiting for us is wild. He wasn’t even recruiting when he had a job let alone when he was about to get fired

****tiest recruiter we’ve ever had here imo
This right here. The revisionist theory of manny is wild right now. Saw the worst defensive performances from a defensive minded coach. Multiple 400 yard rushing games against us. Multiple losing 4th and 20 stops. Most of the programs worst losses.

The common argument I see is if he had Mario’s resources. Dude would literally be Mike norvell here right now. Hope you get lucky in the portal and hope fans ignore the abortion of a recruiting job you do.

Please don’t let the turnover chain blind you from the almost irreparable culture issues and recruiting ties down here.

I don’t feel like pulling it up but if you go to the manny diaz hired as hc thread here I called it. “ Worst hire ever will be worse than Shannon.”

FUN FACT:

Manny Diaz (except Pedo St) has been DC/HC of team whereby they have given up their worst defensive performance to an opponent in modern school history.
Yep. Texas vs BYU got him fired. Miami vs UNC SHOULD have gotten him fired.

Let’s add Duke vs Miami to his Wall of Shame.

Although Duke has been so traditionally bad, it might be a difficult record to break.

Manny is a fraud. He ca make a decent defense with other peoples talent, but once it becomes his players you see how bad he is. Right now he has two of Mike Elko’s classes. He may be able to scheme up a few tackles for loss and sacks per game, but his defenses will always be **** against good teams or even bad ones.

The 2020 game against UNC should’ve gotten him fired. A home game for the conference title and a possible New Year’s Eve Bowl game and you **** the bed that bad? Miami defense had no clue from the first UNC offensive playoff of the game.

We had a lot of bad coaches, including Larry Coker, but I think Manny ranks number one. I give him that rank because of his fake #NewMiami and turnover chain bull****. Because of those god-awful games against FIU, UNC, Louisiana Tech, Central Michigan, Appalachian State, and on and on.

That’s what Manny Diaz does to people.

I don’t dislike Al Golden nearly as much as Diaz. He just a bad head coach. He was over his head at Miami. Number two behind Diaz.

I rooted for Randy Shannon. He was a Cane from the Jimmy Johnson era. Took over the program after the disarray at the end of Coker. Much like Mario he knew he needed to change the culture, but he just wasn’t capable of doing it nor did he have to resources at the time.

Shannon lost me with 45-17 home lost FSU his last season. How the **** does Miami come out flat against FSU? The game was a joke. Late in the game FSU ran for a 80 yard touchdown, only to have it called back. The next play they ran for a 90 yard touchdown. Jimbo and his Cuckhold staff were laughing it up on the sideline.

This 💯. As I said previously, Manny deserved everything he got at the end. He was inept. I wish this board would stop rewriting history with this "he was a nice guy simply over his head but did alright here" narrative. He lost to a mediocre FIU team. Dude should have been dropped after that game alone. Losses to Florida and North Carolina were embarrassing as well. The guy sucked. His defenses were overrated as well. If his one dimensional blitz schemes didn't get to the QB, we would get gashed for 500 yards and 45 points see North Carolina in 2020. No bowl wins, no identity, lazy culture, lispy politician's son FSU grad tw*t. Eff him!

Fair. Don't need to re-litigate it but I think it was like the stickers-on-the-helmet thing that made an appearance around the same time and never stuck. It looked like we were struggling with our identity. Its great when you're on a run (2017). It peaked and became an embarassing, bush-league sideshow.

Yup, zero sympathy for that clown.

I’m not debating this

I didn’t get anything wrong

Look at that horrific class we had before Mario took over and tell me he was “out there recruiting”

Bull. ****.

If you don’t hate him I don’t really care. You asked and I responded
You know I hated his recruiting it was straight ***. The reason he got Flagg was the Texas schools knew he was a jag and Manny wanted the easy yes commits that he didn’t have to battle for. Everyone capped for Flagg cause of a HS MVP which means nothing at the college level, it’s all about projection/skill set at D1 nothing else. Throw stats and awards out the window in HS.

Dude was a terrible recruiter I said that day 1. Everyone has nil money now and Norvell still can’t recruit, manny never could recruit with or without money. Mario could recruit with or without money.

Manny was the worst. Miss me with that "nice guy" bs. Clappy was a nice guy as well and we all know how that turned out.

Yeah and he also was a bad recruiter his entire time he was here. The Covid year where no one could take visits he landed a couple of top recruits but his ****** recruiting is common knowledge

I hate bad recruiting coaches so dude asked why the hatred. Just check his classes that’s all you gotta do
I get it, but again 💩 rolls downhill

62-26 loss to Carolina back in 2020-

They ran for 529 rushing yards-

I’ll never forgive Manny for that beat down-

**** Manny Diaz mang!
Not nearly as bad as the 48-0 blowout loss to Virgina by Randy Shannon in the LAST game at the Orange Bowl in 2007! The hatred for Manny never ceases to amaze me when Shannon, who is a total bumbling *** clown himself, gets a free pass

In fairness to Manny, he didn’t hate the program. Al Holden hated it.

i like manny a lot and wish him much success, except next week. i'm glad he's doing well at Duke.
This is the correct response. Too many battered children in this fanbase who can't move on. Seems like he's finally found a place that fits his skill level. He was never qualified to be head coach here but that's not his fault.

I wouldn’t give Shannon a pass he was abysmal-I was at that UVA game-It was a disgrace.

I just mentioned Diaz because I’ll never forget the way UNC punked us that day horrendous.

I was there as well...flew 9,600 miles roundtrip to watch that blowout. Everyone likes to pile on Manny, but Shannon was just as bad but seems to get overlooked.

It’s more of a recency bias. To me we’ve had far worse the worst program losses with manny. I called it 2019 Randy Shannon 2.0.

It was just more soul crushing and a big **** you to the fans that after richt was kind enough to turn down the remainder of his contract and retire. we did a full 360 and in 17 business hours we hired that clown.

Agree we never should have hired Manny, especially within 1 day of Richt leaving, but anyone would have done the same thing and accepted their dream job. I believe its recency bias as well.
