****Miami vs. Arkansas GAME THREAD****

Bruce Brown
Chris Lykes
Lonnie Walker(once he got healthy and learned to coexist with Bruce Brown)
Shane Larkin
Benz Joseph/Wooga Poplar(Both got a ton of minutes on an Elite 8 team, because they could fill a role)

The list goes on. If you are willing to either fill a role until you figure it out and provide something of value, L will play you, even if you are a freshman. It's amazing how fans run to these narratives, despite evidence to the contrary staring them dead in the face.

Bethea isn't getting minutes because he's soft as ****, and lacks maturity. He is an AAU star that doesn't want to play team basketball and L isn't going to let him do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. I wouldn't be shocked if he hits the portal, because people are seeing that he isn't mature enough for the League right now. It's a shame because he has talent, but uncoachable talent is a waste.
You forgot to mention Coach L's biggest feather in his cap as far as freshmen stories are concerned, last year's sensation Kyshawn George.

Everything Kidd did starting with the 100mph dump off to Djobet was everything that made me think he had no business being a high minute starter. How many ******* rebounds went right off his hands (I swear to god one hit him right in the chest). How many times did he just stand in the paint while Ivisic loaded up his slow *** jumper from 3 instead of making him put the ball on the floor. I actually thought he was playing his best game since maybe the first of the season and then he just completely **** the bed.
This.

Besides lacking toughness, he has bad rebounding hands as well as bad rebounding instincts. He's almost never in the right place for the rebound and even when he is other players just outrebound him.

Brandon Johnson was pretty ineffective as well.

Kidd and Johnson played a total of 60 minutes and combined for 5 rebounds. That’s just laughably pathetic.

We need to stop playing them together and embrace small ball again.

I’ve said it a million times and I hate being a broken record. Johnson is our best rebounder. Cleveland may be our second. Those two can play the 4/5 together in the college game. Yes, if we run into a team with a ton of size that plays through the post we will struggle to stop them. But we will also space them out on the other end.

Remember when we played Auburn with Jabari Smith and Kessler, and just completely took Kessler out of the game because he was a liability on the other end because Waardenburg could shoot it and put it on the floor? Why so many of our fans are opposed to that just because we ran into a UCONN buzz saw is beyond me (we’re still the team that played them closest over their last two tourney runs, by the way)

I was at least encouraged by the effort last night.

Great effort today. IF we can play like this the rest of the way, I think we'll be fine. Last 8-9 minutes of the game killed us. Don't think Kidd playing the last 8+ minutes of this game tonight was the way to go. Should've stuck to what got us there. Oh well, GO CANES!!!

Coach L should have gone back to the starting lineup at the end of the game. The Pack, Blackmon, Cleveland, Johnson, and Kidd lineup doesn't work defensively or offensively.
