Miami should still make the playoff

Unfortunately, it’s who you’ve beaten that matters.

South Carolina has Top 25 wins over A&M and Clemson. Their losses are to Ole Miss (top 15), Bama (top 15), and 8-4 LSU.

Alabama has a win over UGA (top 10), South Carolina (top 15) and top 25 A&M, but two bad losses.

Ole Miss has resounding wins over top 10 UGA, top 15 South Carolina, but three one-score losses.

Miami has no top 25 wins, and two bleh losses. Maybe Duke or Syracuse will be ranked now, regardless…resume isn’t comparable.
Just coming to post this
I don’t think we have two bleh losses, even though they hurt
An 8-4 GT AND 9-3 Cuse team.

I think South Carolina has best resume of those 3 SEC teams
With multiple top 25 wins I think USCeast will be the final team in, over Miami, Bama, and Ole Miss

I can't look at this defense and think this team actually deserves to get in. It is that bad of a unit. Add in our schedule with no great wins and it looks even worse. The offense is amazing but I don't think its enough as we just saw, unfortunately. And if they do get in, anyone we play is likely to put up 35+ (and that's probably conservative)

Either way, all they have to do is look in the mirror to see where the blame lies if they miss. No one to blame but themselves.

It all matters, but respectfully you haven’t been paying attention if this is your thought process.

Miami and UGA had the same wins you’re talking about last week.

But Miami was 6 and UGA was 7. Why? Because Miami only had 1 loss.

And you, respectfully, hadn’t been paying attention to why the committee ranked us there then.

They came out and said they valued the way we are able to close strong and win one-score games. Which to me, I actually agreed with. There is an art in finding a way to win, no matter how ugly the first 40 ish minutes are.

And with our Syracuse performance, that trait goes bye-bye. So now, stack up UGA’s wins over top 5 Texas and top 10 Tennessee, versus us. Throw those aforementioned SEC teams in there now.

If all we had going for us was winning close…then as an intelligent betting man like I know you are, you’ll understand why we are +1000 to make the CFP, while the other SEC teams have more realistic odds.

Watch how far we drop today, I guarantee it’s around 15. And the CFP, has been mimicking the AP poll to a large degree.

We are currently 8th in the AP and 6th in the CFP. Thats a massive difference when you consider we’re either getting the last spot in or we’ll miss by 1-2 spots. I don’t think we get in, for the record. I just don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that we don’t. There will definitely be a long debate in the committee room.

Playoffs ?!?!

It’s not a us vs uga thing. Uga is in already regardless of what happens in the seccg. The question is can you drop Miami from 6 to out of the playoffs after losing a close game to a 9-3 team?

I do wonder how GT performance against UGA will come into play in evaluating us. I hope the committee will realize that it was not a “bad loss” considering we played them at their place.

andrea adelson has usually been spot on with her predictions about what the playoff committee will do. I can’t wait to hear what she has to say today about where Miami will be come Tuesday

Rest of the schedule improved too.

Cuse finishes 9-3
VT won
Gators finish 7-5
Louisville throttled an SEC team
Duke finishes 9-3

Miami should not nor deserve to be in the Playoffs. The Defense was terrible after week 4 and Coach Cristobal didn't fo anything with this pathetic Defensive Coordinator and his play calling. The Defensive Coordinator did not make any adjustments and if I'm Cam Ward, I would blame the Defense for not helping him Win the Heisman! He won about 5 games with his late game heroics. Everyone will definitely see how bad the Offense is once Cam doesn't play in the Bowl Game and how worse the Defense will still be. If Defensive Coordinator is not Fired then Cristobal should be Fire too. It still should be considered because he didn't do anything to help make decisions with the Defense! I know this is long but I've been a Hurricanes fan since 1982.....
It takes a real special ******* to be a "fan" for 40+ years and think that a three loss Bama team that just scored 3 points against a miserable Oklahoma team should be in front of your supposed favorite team.

We lost two of our last three games (all unranked). We don’t deserve to be in
GT and Syracuse were just out of the top 25 and receiving votes last week. GT should have beat UGA, which would have given them 3 top 10 wins this season. Obviously I’m disappointed in the result. All these people acting like we just lost to an awful Oklahoma, Michigan, Vandy though. Bama has 3 loses, 2 of those being much worse. Not to mention we lost close games while they got manhandled.

Also, we beat 3 teams that were receiving votes last week. I wouldn’t be surprised if 2 of those teams crack the top 25.
