Miami offers WR (Jordan Pouncey, now former ND Commit)

Why are you guys comparing Pouncey kid to Njoku or Harley? They're totally different types of players, and we could use them all.

Like his tape. Good vision, balance, angles, lean, body control. Okay speed enhanced by vision and angles. Okay acceleration enhanced by lean and balance.

Interesting prospect.

They play wr right? He's a commit right?

I just like ones film more than the other. Is that illegal?

I think it's fair to compare a committed talent to a talent we already have. We're at the point where recruiting different types is out the window , it's just land a talented wr time.

Player who we recruited for awhile turns his back on us, "he sucks, bad tape, overrated."

New player who our staff didn't offer prior comes into the picture. "Great tape, no idea why he wasn't offered earlier, underrated."

Love this board.

Just ran into Jordan in Target and spoke with him for a second. Great kid with great talent! I know him because his little brother plays with my son. Not sure how solid he is to ND, but I definitely made a pitch.

Did he say anything about visiting Miami?

Pouncey has been committed to Notre Dame for the past six months. He took his time, took many trips to multiple schools, and made a well-educated decision. However, things got interesting on Monday when the in-state Miami Hurricanes extended a scholarship offer. Pouncey has cheered for Miami since he was young. Will this offer impact his recruitment?

"Well, as you know Notre Dame is very strict about visiting other schools and what-not and I mean, this offer isn't taken lightly," said Pouncey. "I grew up a Hurricanes fan, so we'll just have to see."

It looks like Pouncey will continue to have dialogue with both coaching staffs and figure out if he wants to take an official visit to Coral Gables or not.

Well that answers that... I guess I should just ask what Pouncey said when he talked to him? Thanks.

Who turned their back on us that we recruited for a while and now we are saying he sucks and he's overrated?

Lifelong Canes fan? Bleeds orange and green. Got his UM offer a mere 5 months after Notre Dame. Surely, a lifelong diehard Cane would pounce on the UM offer right?

Notre Dame lock.

I don't think I like this generation.

Unfortunately he didn't say anything about taking a visit, BUT I wouldn't count out a flip on NSD 🤞

Unfortunately he didn't say anything about an official visit, but when I told him I was a Cane alum myself his reaction gave me hope. We did offer him late in the game, but I wouldn't count out a flip on NSD. 🤞

I said it recently in another recruiting thread but if we had a dime for every recruit who said he grew up a Canes fan and called Miami his "dream school" before ultimately committing elsewhere, we could fund the IPF and a new stadium.

Hopefully, the questions about Kelly's future at ND will cause him to give Miami a hard look. There is a good chance that Kelly will be fired after next season.

I'm almost willing to put Brian Kelly not being back at Notre Dame after next season in that small guarantees of life category that includes death and taxes.

Those kids aren't fans.

They're front runners who only like us when we're good. Swag bro!
