Miami offers Malik Langham

Complain about not going after DTs, complain after new DTs are offered. Even if other schools just offered them. The CIS way.

I am no expert in recruiting but I speculate that offering an elite prospect at this point in the game is a waste of time. If the prospect's best offer is to UCF then it makes more sense but not if all these top tier programs have been on him for years.

Works for Tusculoosa. Just sayin...

Bama offers most 4 and 5 star prospects early on. They might not recruit them as hard as the top guys but they have at least offered.

Are you compairing Miami to Bama? Cmon. Plus, not sure that’s even accurate.

Richt said they only offer OOS kids who show interest in Miami. I remember him saying that on different occasions when talking recruiting. TFWIW.

Not a smart plan.

Yes it is

I prefer the bama option to spread your net far and wide. Also, sometimes you have to change kids minds. If we are of the mindset we only offer kids who want to be canes (or show interest) I think it is a little short sided and could potentially have us missing out on some good prospects.

Also, what exactly does "show interest" mean? Do the prospects themselves have to contact Miami (like DJ did)?

Guy on 247s board, that knows Langhams coach and coached his brother says we might get his last visit. Said he likes the way we play D, and rotate players. Said most importantly academics is where we may win him over. Also noted that distance might be an issue. He said for Alabama, depth chart is a drawback.

Visiting Vandy this weekend, so academics must be important to him. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, so im sure he knows about Kool. With our depth, we may have a chance here.

Bring me Nesta, Chatfield, Langham, and Chatman!

I thought that this wasn't an offer to remember, but after seeing how careful this coaching staff is with offers, I've switched up on that. Just get to the table and let the chips fall where they may

Follow the offers....

Not a good sign.

I think this is more about them not feeling good about Carson

Probably right but it’s ridiculous they got on Carson too late and then this kid too late.
Ignored Briggs too long
Ignored Coburn too long
And so on

WTF is Kul doing out there? Was he aware there is no second place in recruiting?

Kul is too good of a coach to be encampment with only offering 5 Stars and ****.
Offer the 4 stars early. Get them committed. Make the early draft picks

I would soooooo love to steal this kid from Bama in Saban's backyard for a change.

We need to send in the snipers in the Donk and Hartley next.

I just wish fans like you were in charge of recruiting instead of our perpetually idiotic Canes staff. We could just offer everyone regardless of admissions policy of the University.
Have you petitioned the Admin?

Didn’t realize this kid was from my hometown. I don’t think a player has ever gone to Miami from Huntsville, Al. And probably never will. If he is that good, he will end up somewhere in the SEC.
Jimmy Word early 70's came to Miami stayed a couple of years and transferred to Auburn.
