Here is the intel behind the prediction for one of Notre Dame's top offensive targets — Pompano Beach (Fla.) North Broward Prep four-star wide receiver Kevin Austin.
The 6-3, 198-pounder and his family will be in South Bend on Apr. 22 for an unofficial visit during Notre Dame's annual spring game. This will be Notre Dame's first opportunity to pull ahead for his services, as Austin has never been to campus yet. Look for the Irish to pull out all the stops to show Austin that he is a priority recruit for the staff this cycle.
We've also learned that Notre Dame has Austin as one of the top offensive targets on the board, regardless of position, and is treating him as such. Offensive coordinator Chip Long, wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander and running backs coach Autry Denson have been relentless in their pursuit of the nation's No. 193 overall recruit in the 2018 class. We're told Austin's interest in the Irish has only grown since Long and Alexander have come on board.
Off the field, Notre Dame has everything Austin is looking for in a school. He boasts a 3.5 grade point average in the classroom. Academics come first in his household, which gives schools like Notre Dame and Duke an advantage. We're told Austin's father has made it clear to a source recently that Notre Dame and Duke are the teams to beat at this point.
When looking at academics, the need for a player of his caliber in this class, depth chart, fit and relationships, I feel comfortable about this prediction for Austin to Notre Dame. There is still a long way to go and if a school like Stanford were to pull the trigger with an offer, this recruitment could get even tighter. However, right now, I like Notre Dame's chances.
As a junior, Austin totaled 41 catches for 1,021 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 46 times for 454 yards and 6 more touchdowns.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Austin is the No. 34 wide receiver nationally and No. 38 prospect in Florida from the class of 2018.
