FWIW, the internal promotion seems like it will be Danny Collins their SAF coach, not Monroe according to their 247 writers.

Collins is also a main reason they're so sure Perich & Kerry Brown will stay locked in.

FWIW, I would be surprised if the internal option for the Gophers wasn't Danny Collins, the safeties coach. Maybe Minnesota tries to give Monroe a co-DC title, but if only one coach gets the DC title and the job calling plays, it will be Collins.

I was told Mario was dead set on keeping JT. That wasn’t recent but still.

I get it , In recruiting circles he’s like walking in the party with the hot chick with big ***** lol. Not many people can walk in with a NFL HOFer. He also didn’t jive with Guidry at all. Schematically and more.

If he’s not fired ( I don’t see it ) it would be an NFL gig . He’s the one guy I’ve been saying for months “I’d be shocked if he’s not back”.

Monroe already has the Co-DC title.

Collins has been with fleck dating back to western Michigan. None of their options have ever called plays. They do have a former FCS DC on staff as an analyst that will likely become their Co-DC and LB coach.
